Great location by Assi Ghat. Much more chilled area to stay than further north. Lovely staff. Good breakfast with lots to eat every morning! The owner gave us a great list of recommendations - sites and restaurants.

Great location to see the early morning ceremony at Assi Ghat. The rest of the Ghats along the river are very easy to reach from there as well. Highly recommended. Very clean place and very nice and cool host. He shared with us a list of all the places worth visiting.

Pocket friendly, Saurabh , the owner is a gem. He really works towards making tourists stay comfortable and best. But the staff is not very friendly, they give more importance and preference to foreigner tourists than Indian tourists. Saurabh needs to work on this sector. Apart from this, everything is excellent.

The hosts were amazing, so hospitable, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing and the roof terrace and breakfast were great. Location was also fantastic, really close to Assi Ghat. Would highly recommend to both solo travellers and those in groups.

I would like to thank the host for his help, he took care of me. He bought medicine for stomach pain. Thanks to him I am healthy. This is the greatest help. Gully Ghar was the perfect place for us to explore Varanasi. Saurabh and the team were of great help, not only with providing info on the city but also with arranging an early morning check-in. Location is fantastic. Definitely recommend!

Everything. Rooms and toilets were clean, hot water available, ac in rooms and the staff is amazing. Nice and friendly family. They show you and tell you everything you need to know about town, prices, where to eat, where to shop etc. And breakfast is really good and relax place.👌

It was really just fine. I guess an elevator would be nice for some guests since it's a 5 floor walkup, but I am in good shape so I didn't mind.

Excellent location (5 min walk or less from Assi Ghat), large and comfortable bed, everything clean, pleasant rooftop breakfast experience, very helpful staff -- the hotel manager in particular, Saurabh, was extremely warm and welcoming. He helped me arrange taxis, know the local events, etc, and was very understanding when I arrived super-late / when my plans changed. I would stay here again next time, definitely.

Great Location in one of the magical cities in the world with a fantastic owner. It is located near Assi Ghat, so is very easy to reach all important Hotspots in the city, esp. for the famous Morning Ceremony, you have to visit. The Owner is alltimes so helpfully and you can enjoy you breakfast at the rooftop. Big recommendation, we enjoyed our stay so much!

Very friendly owner and family that help you with everything. Nice rooms and huge breakfast buffet that changes every day. Perfect location only a 3min. walk away from the famous Assi Ghat where you can see the morning ceremony at 05:30 or start a boatride.

The guest house is wonderful, very quiet area, low noise level, good rest, comfortable bed. Saurabh is an excellent person, very attentive, as is all the staff. Excellent terrace for breakfast and socializing with the rest of the guests... Recommended

We chose Gullyghar Homestay based on the price and location. Later we learned that was the best choice we could have made. The guest house is really simple and mimics the feeling of Varanasi. We had few plans but thanks to Saurabh Pandey we could manage our trip much better and meet places we would not to, for example, the boat trip at 5am was amazing. Although it was really hot and humid, our bedroom had A/C which really helped to relax when need to. We really enjoyed the terrace while having breakfast and just chatting with each other. In the end, if you are travelling alone or even with friends, and want to meet nice people and see as much as you can, I highly recommend Gullyghar Homestay. Thanks and happy travels.

Lovely place, very nice and attentive owner l. It's small place but with big heart. Breakfast was all quite good (egg, porridge, yogurt, chai) many more and get to enjoy on the roottop. It's located in small alley so not so noisy, easy to find in good map..

The bathroom vent practically opened into another bathroom, similarly the room vent was only separated from the other room by a taped sheet of paper. It is unpleasant that you are almost in the same space with strangers, who were also terribly loud at dawn. This is not a properly private solution. We could not pay by card unfortunately.
