Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe limited elevator hours post 10 PM were inconvenient, affecting accessibility within the hostel. Additionally, while beyond the hostel's control, there's room for improvement in guest behavior. Some guests' noisy conversations throughout the night, whether on the phone or with each other, disturbed the overall peace and quiet of the environment. A more considerate approach to noise levels from fellow guests would greatly enhance the overall experience for everyone staying at the hostel.
Strategically situated, this hostel boasts a prime location, making it easily accessible to travelers exploring the vibrant surroundings. Embracing a no-frills ethos, guests can expect straightforward accommodations designed for functionality and practicality. The hostel prides itself on meticulous cleanliness standards, ensuring a refreshing and hygienic environment for all guests. Despite its simplicity, the hostel provides comfortable amenities, guaranteeing a restful stay for budget-conscious travelers seeking convenience and comfort without unnecessary extravagance. Whether you're embarking on a solo adventure or traveling with friends, this hostel offers an inviting haven for backpackers and explorers alike.

very clean hotel placed in an old, traditional tenement in a quiet area near the city center. The bathroom is shared but clean with hot water. We could leave our luggage for a whole day after check out. Great quality - price ratio

FranceI stayed for a day and there were very few people staying - both toilets remained not cleaned throughout the day. The showers and rooms were very clean.
The location is amazingly convenient, walking distance from most sites in South Mumbai. Great thing we can check-in at 9am! The hostel is beautiful, in a well preserved classic building - the rooms and common spaces are lovely. Points for the drinkable water fountain in the reception area :)

Homely environment, they have kithen which u can use. and as it's a shared accommodation you meet new people... Property is in Fort so most of the tourist attractions are near by. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hebbars Heritage in Mumbai. Despite arriving after midnight the staff was very kind to let me in. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and adorned with a cozy and rustic interior. Situated at the bustling heart of Mumbai near CSMT, it offers great value for money.

HungaryThere is no AC so you should take that into consideration. There is a fan though and net on the window so you can keep the window open for the night if you want.
It has a nice old rustic interior in a very good way. The elevator is quite unique these days.

United KingdomNot quite as communal as we had hoped and quite a dark interior vibe, and it would be great to be able to get a bit more info on the area and recommendations, but in general we were happy.
A good location near to the CSMT train station and walking distance from fort and colaba areas. Clean with good washroom facilities, staff were very flexible with late checkin and early check out times.

IndiaA lot of men occupied some rooms in the hostel at night. They seemed to be working in the nearby government. offices. Most women kept to the dorms and didn't use the common space because of this. Some were making and reading work calls in the room.
Very pretty and great location. Comfortable stay. It's literally an old heritage home close to sterling and cst. Great location if you are trying to get work done. A lot of women were there for court related work.

FranceFemale/69 years old, travelling individually. 😊I really liked the proximity and walking distance to the wonderful Victoria/Chatrapati Shivaji central railway station, a masterpiece, unmissable, by day and at night fall( illuminated). Also buses and taxis at a few mns walk from Hebbar's. It's very convenient because no rickshaw in central Mumbai. Very simple hotel, clean, quiet, with retro/vintage decoration (colonial style of the early 19th century) which has a great charm! Discreet male staff, available. 🙁 I didn't like the "reception" and welcome so much as it wasn't a real welcome, because it lacked warmth and courtesy, but I politely pointed it out to the person and he then made an effort and smiled:) - I booked the one and only single room (no washbasin or toilet, which explains the price). There are only dormitories and a young/Indian crowd. Not many people when I was there, so no problem, but I think that 2 showers and 2 toilets are not enough if the hotel is full. -Looks a bit like an "old fashioned" youth hostel. It's a pity that the hotel (which is on the 4th floor of a building) is not refreshed or renovated, with rooms and washbasin/shower. The "colonial/retro" style has a lot of charm! But the price would also be higher, as the location is very good -The atmosphere did not seem very pleasant at first (rather male presence, few women) but in fact very safe, clean, calm, and I finally felt very safe, without any problem.

IndiaBreakfast was not included in the cost so I can't comment on that. The room was really clean and comfortable, just a little warm during the day due to being closed in by buildings on three sides. The staff was excellent. Since I was a solo female traveller, they took extra care to ensure my safety and allowed me to wait in the rec room post check out until it was time for me to leave for my transit. The place is exactly right for the cost (might even have exceeded my expectations based on past experience at similar properties).

SloveniaIt's a bit High price for a private room with shared bathroom, but I Guess it's beacuse of the location and the rustical style of the hotel. The staff at the reception could be less annoyed when asked questions. They also didn't show us the common room and the kitchen. Until last day I didn't even know there was a kitchen.
The location is very good for sightseeing, the rooms are comfortable and they also provide filtered Water so you can refill your bottle which Means less plastic.

PolandThe bathrooms were very clean. The shower worked, but in need of a bit of repair. Despite that, will recommend for the cleanliness and atmosphere.
We played games and watched cricket with the other guests in a common room. The atmosphere was great. It's an expensive place to stay while on business in Mumbai, so the place is full of interesting Indian lawyers, business people, students. Only one other couple of non-Indians arrived the day we left.
