Quite a walk up to the top from town. The very bazaar welcome of people screaming was quite disturbing. I recommend checking before booking in regards to private retreats being held up stairs that are loud with disturbing screams. Also if a retreat is operating rooftop yoga is not available.

The inner hotel is spatious, with nice, elegant decoration. The room is large, with a private balcony. Friendly staff. The nearby restaurant Nirvana, recommended by the staff, makes tasty food and is again quite elegant without being posh. As this hotel is about 15 minutes by foot from the center of Tapovan, you enjoy quiet nights.

it is a bit of an uphill walk, but then you get the best view from the room with a small terrace, excellent to enjoy the nature and the area.

It is steep to get there and you can only reach by foot. No help given with the luggage by a staff that is not super friendly. The yoga hall as well as some bedrooms are difficult to reach through many staircases and steep paths. There is no restaurant in the hotel, not even breakfast. Lots of monkeys came on my balcony (it did not bother me but it might to some people).

The hotel is away from the street noise. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. There are good restaurants, yoga centres and spas within a few minutes walk of the hotel so one can actually spend a few days just staying there and not have to go anywhere. Not very far from the streets, Ganga riverbanks etc.

There is a lot of building work going on but this will eventually make it an even better place to visit.

We had a really great time at Hill Top Swiss Cottage! Staff was very kind and helpful, the property is beautiful and it felt nice to stay there. Highly recommended!

I found the location was a bit too far and there was too much walking back to the hotel in the dark as a solo female. It didn't have a restaurant as such, but you could order food to be delivered to your room. I would have preferred a dine in option as this could be somewhere to meet other guests.

The room was big, had great views and its own balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful. Was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle and the room was pretty quiet.

Although the room is stunning, there were a lot of stairs and with the children it was a bit problematic. Also, there was no common space of the guesthouse where you could hang out when it rained

The staff at the reception had no idea how to talk to people. That was the biggest negative. Food was just okay okay. By the time it reaches you it's already cold.

This place is an absolute gem! The room was perfect for us and the view from the balcony was fantastic.

Instead of a double bed, we had two twin beds pushed together. We managed, but it wasn't the most comfortable. Also, the shower was a little wonky and the tub looked very old, and not worth trying out. They did offer room service, but the Western food wasn't that good.

The location was good- close enough to Tapovan and the restaurants and shopping, but far enough away that the traffic wasn't too crazy. The view from our room was fantastic, as well. The internet was fast enough for video calls and meetings.
