Restaurant staff could have been a bit friendlier.

Breakfast was good. Although the pool was a little on the small side it was clean and refreshing. The massage treatment was a special bonus. The room was spotless and I felt well looked after.

The accommodation is little old and furnishings are worn out and need to be replaced.

Away from the main street and quiet. The Ayurvedic regime is gopd value for money. The staff and Management were very helpful. Nice peaceful atmosphere surrounded by herbal garden.

Although there is a beautiful beach nearby, Chowara Beach Village is a bit isolated.

Nothing about the place which I didnt like. All the staff were genuinely friendly and the place was nice and clean.

It is a nice resort. Everything about this is good except that it is not close to Kovalam beach. There is another beach nearby which is walkable. The ayurvedic massage here was quite good and reasonably priced too. The all vegetarian breakfast has a lot of options. Got place for parking my car. Overall a good ..thumbs up experience.

In our economy room the bed was firm and the bathroom basic, not luxurious. We opted for cheaper accomodation, but the poolside rooms would be perfect if you can choose them.

The highlight of the property is the pool, surrounded by lush gardens. The restaurant, as it is an Ayurvedic resort, serves delicious vegetarian food with plenty of choice daily at a very reasonable price. The on site Ayurvedic doctor prescribes all kinds of treatments if you have the time to u der take them. Many of the residents are on long term stays with ongoing treatment, but you can take ant type of massage that you like. The masseuses were excellent. This is a tranquil stay, away from the hustle in the shops outside the gates. There are lots of transport options to visit nearby resorts and beaches. The resort offers excellent value for money. The staff were kind and considerate.

A warning for anyone staying here - if they don’t have enough rooms in the hotel they will still accept your booking but put you in a room in the hotel across the road **without telling you until you arrive**. This happened to us. They told us we weren’t staying there but in the hotel across the road - we were still expected to have breakfast at Ideal and could use the facilities but we weren’t staying there. We would need to come back and forth between the two hotels. Obviously this is deeply disappointing and simply not on as when you book to stay at a hotel you expect to stay at that hotel not another one. They don’t caveat this in any of their policy information. We had to kick up quite a fuss for them to do anything about it and eventually they compensated us for the night we had to spend in the other hotel (which isn’t as nice at all) and then we moved ourselves over to Ideal the next day. A real shame as it tainted our experience at the hotel. Would recommend confirming with them in advance that you are staying at the actual Ideal Hotel when you book to avoid disappointment.

The pool area and outdoor section of the hotel is really beautiful. You feel nestled away in a little tropical paradise. Breakfast is delicious with lots of fresh and healthy options.

There was no WIFI in the room. When I wanted to use my laptop I had to go to the reception area where there were no electriic outlets to keep my laptop fully charged. It was a very bad set-up.

I opted for the cheapest room and it was simple, but comfortable enough. I had some mobility issues due to a recent injury and the staff were very helpful in helping me get around. Their vegetarian breakfast buffet was very nice and again staff were so helpful given I had difficulty walking.

There was a large science expo being held on the beach which was fine in itself but was a little noisy. It also made the area fully booked and we had only booked Ideal for one night. We were struggling to find somewhere else to stay in the area however the staff at Ideal went above and beyond and shuffled some people so they could offer us a smaller room (with no air con) at a reduced fee. We were so grateful for this and their assistance, that for one night, the smaller room and no air con was no issue at all.

Staff were so helpful and friendly, we arrived 15 minutes before the dinner buffet closed so they allowed us to eat before checking into the room (thankfully because there was not a lot on offer outside the hotel). We had an early walk on the beach followed by a swim in the pool. We then spoke with the on-sight Ayruvedic doctor to work out the most appropriate treatments and then booked in for that. After having previous similar treatments earlier on our holiday while in Jaipur, this was simply sensational. The ladies providing the massage, shirodhara and herbal compress were so skilled and knowledgeable, we wished we could spend more than two days here.

The outside of our house was being painted so it was a bit of a building site and our room smelt like paint. Also the laundry service was not good unfortunately our clothes did not smell clean and we’re still damp.

Fantastic location. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The property is nestled in the midst of greenery. Very courteous staff. Ayurvedic massage facility being available within the property is an icing on the cake.

Wonderful serene setting with breathtaking views with sustainability at its core. Spacious rooms tastefully furnished, very clean and comfortable. Good keralan breakfast with fresh fruit and juices. Both reception and restaurant staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly.
