How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Internet service (wi-fi) not reliable. I have to use my personal hot spot most of the time for work.

We had a room where we had doors but couldn't fully close them.

Request to put dustbins in the dorm and washroom area.
Overall, very nice place to stay. It is a villa. The owner was very helpful in every way. I liked the home cooked food which was very nicely prepared. Very Close proximity to tourist attractions.

Room price is little bit high and breakfast option is limited and price is high. There is no option to dry your cloths as owner will not allow you to wash your daily use cloth and you cannot hang it to get dry outside your room, Since we are travelling with familly and it was winter so we faced little bit difficulties to dry our daily wear clothes.
Room and bathroom size is good, cleaness and hygine is also good, Its a homestay and behaviour of uncle is also good they give correct suggestion and helpfuull. Since i was travelling in dec last week which was season time so it was priced high but overall room and all othe facility was good. Location of propert is average as it is located in recedential area and taxi or auto driver will find little bit difficulties to reach. Breakfast priced little bit high, but overall stay is good and recommended. As rest all thing was good and room is very cozy.

Fruits plate is very small for 200Rp. But Indian breakfast is good.
Clean rooms. The host is very attentive, caring and polite. Our room was large, clean, comfortable. The courtyard with the cafe is incredibly beautiful. All sightseeing 15 min by walk. It’s good quite location.

liked everything regarding this property. It's kind of a homestay where you will literally find the peace of staying at home.the owners are very cooperative and kind. The ambience with a courtyard is simply brilliant walkable distance from lake pichola(around 1.2 km). A total value for money

Nothing, everything was working as it should be.
I really liked the property and all of it's amenities provided The host family is super awesome as well. The location is in Old city which has a bit narrow lanes but nothing that cannot be located.

They tried to charge the fee from booking.com that they are supposed to pay to the platform. When we asked what it was they suddenly said that we didn't have to pay it. This is not the first time it happens to us around India. Pay attention just in case. Besides that is a place I would recommend to stay.
Overall a really clean big space for a reasonable price. Really well located

We had a really amazing stay at Kalyan Villa. The host Tribhuvan made sure we were comfortable.. It has been one of our best stays. The food served was delicious and well presented. I would really recommend this place to anyone who want a peaceful sleep, stay in a vintage haveli and wants to explore the city on foot. All the tourist places are at walkable distance.

The villa was in a remote place
The room was perfect and cozy and everything was clean and well maintained but the only disadvantage is that it's far off from the main street and not many restaurants around the place. An overall good experience.

It would have been better if there were any arrangements for cold winter nights like a heater/ bonfire.
The stay was amazing, the room and the courtyard was so beautiful. Ghanshayam ji was very helpful and we had homemade breakfast from the villa. All the major tourist attractions are very nearby in a radius of 2-3Km.
