Tough competition, but this was the best stay of our trip in March! Absolutely magical property - beautifully decorated with lovely views, and kept quite clean. The owners were so hospitable and welcoming. 100% recommend!

The pick up from the railway station was complimentary which is nice. Nevertheless all other services are charged much higher that what you can find by yourselves, so compare before you accept them.

Situated in the fort of Jaisalmer. A charming room with a balcony situated in a lovely guest house with plenty of terrasses. You feel like a maharadja overlooking the town. All staff is professional and very friendly. The Breakfeast was excellent and can be taken on one of the terrasses which are part of the fort architecture. The staff is at your service and prompt to offer tea or any other treat when you return from visits. The rooms are on the high end of the price range but it is once in a lifetime treat that you need to to offer you.

there was nothing not to like. Very friendly staff, nice food, brilliant location, incredible views!

Most lovely location inside the fort. The income and placement of the hotel make for a part of the fort that is perfectly maintained in its old glory. Without a doubt, when in Jaisalmer, book the Killa Bhawan!!! it is worth going up with the riksha or tuktuk (cars cannot go to the top) and staying in rooms with an amazing view!!! All of us loved it, including a couple of friends with their 1yr old little girl! We hopefully will be back soon for a much longer stay!

One suggestion would be to have some extension cords so that we can plug electronics in closer to the bed.

It's more like a home and the staff are just like family! I caught a cold and they made me ginger tea whenever I needed it but even days later after I checked out they were still messaging me to check up to see if I was OK! My room had a shared bathroom which I was a bit concerned about but it's only with 1 other room and I never seen those people it was a non issue. It just made the plaxe feel bigger.

Bathroom a bit small. Honeymoon suite next time!

Fabulous location at the top of the fort, with great city views. A tiny 7 bed B&B hotel run by three lovely people. Breakfast on the communal roof/balcony - and lots of recommendations on where to have lunch or supper. They also found us a great guide and went out if their way to be as helpful as possible. Outstanding experience- best yet on our tour of Rajasthan- and way better than posh hotels four times the price.

    Nothing!

We were in the honeymoon suite & it was fantastic! A view from the bed, our own private balcony plus a sitting area that was almost just for us! Our group had the whole hotel & we could not have been looked after better. The breakfasts were fabulous- must try the plain cheese omelette!! And chai masala was brewed whenever requested. Devine

Only negative is there is no in house kitchen, they will get orders from outside if needed. But this shouldn’t be limitation to stay here.

Property is overlooking the entire city! Stunningly views and great hospitality! This is within the fort and have street shopping at a walking distance. They served breakfast of our choice which was sourced locally.

Super welcoming and genuinely friendly staff. Mr Bhanu and Manish were exceptional. The Nepali staff were very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was great and freshly cooked. Excellent position. Nice rooms within the old fort. Fantastic verandah to sit on and observe the fort entrance and the city. I also loved that they would give you a (free) pot of coffee or chai at any time and you could have it on the balcony. Great stay. It was the highlight of our India trip

The hotel was located inside the castle. The room we stayed had a balcony which overhung the castle wall. The view was the best past from there and the terrace. Hotel staff was super nice and helpful. The entire building, including the room, felt like a part of a museum. The layout, vintage decorations, and even the view transports you to an earlier time. Food and tea was amazing. Additionally, this is centrally located to make exploring the fort easy. Great value for money. If you’re staying in Jaisalmer, this is the only place to be. Highly recommended!!

The rate is, compared to similar establishments, quite high.

We did enjoy our stay for several reasons. First the staff, including management provided excellent service, combined with personal and warm attention. We really felt at home! Secondly the hotel is built into the walls of the Fort, it couldn`t be better. It incarnates the atmosphere of Jaisalmer like no other! We were staying in a suite, which consisted of a well furnished room with a small balcony and a semi private anteroom.

We had booked this hotel on a recommendation of a friend who had stayed there but, were very skeptical of what to expect. We even decided to take a single bag and keep the remaining luggage in the car itself while staying there. Due to the elections and a rally happening the auto couldn’t take us up so we had to walk all the way up (which we had done a day before when visiting the fort and, it isn’t that much to walk). On getting there the managers Mr. Manish and Mr. Bhanu were very welcoming and warm. The ethos that they have is that this is your home and we expect you to treat it like your home. They gave us the biggest room in the hotel (if you can call it that) which was comfortable for my family of us 2 and 2 kids. The room which we were given, Room No.8 has a double bed and quite a large Single bed which can accommodate a adult and small kid. We had a nice chat with Mr. Bhanu on the terrace from where, the views are to die for. He guided on things to do and specially places to shop at in Jaisalmer. In the morning, they arranged a lovely breakfast of local delicacies along with anything else we or the kids wanted. We definitely would have loved to stay another or a couple more nights because it was that warm and comfortable. A lot of people come to Jaisalmer without knowing you can stay on the fort or, they think that staying on the fort would not be a great thing to do. However, do take my word and visit this place, you will not be disappointed. It is an experience that has to be had once in your lifetime.
