How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There could have been AC in the common area of the hostel. And some more lighting in the same place.
The location is very prominent and nearby very good places in Kochi. The cafe's are at a walking distance.

Everything, couldn't recommend it more. So welcoming, so helpful, lovely place to relax and very central but still somehow incredibly peaceful. If you want an excursion Babu will sort it out to a really high standard

I would put a rubber mat in the shower, it would be helpful for such clumsy people as I am))
It is a quiet and relaxed place. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The hostel is not far from the main attractions in this part of Fort Cochi, it's within a walking distance from the streets with cafes, Chinese nets, etc.

Generally there wasn't much of a vibe but saying that, we did come off season so it's to be expected.
It was a really lovely place super close to everything you'd need. The host were also really lovely to have a chat with. We stayed in the double room and although the space was limited, it was definitely worth it for the price we paid and everything was nice and clean.

This property is clean including the private bathroom. Just note that you can't wear footwear in the common areas. Location is great with beach and oldtown attractions (Jewish Town etc.) within a few minutes of walking distance, and the hosts are very friendly.

Kochill is a really nice hotel with hostel spirit : the place is super calm nearby in the center of Kochi, really easy to reach the center by foot. Bouba is a generous and nice host, attentive to the travelers and their journey, you will feel welcome and cared there. The food made by Kurumi, the wife of the host, is delicious and serve all day? As 35 year old woman, the place reaches my expectation in term of confort and the coziness guesthouse vibe. I will definitively come back there ! You can also really enjoy the sounds of all the birds around, they were incredible <3

Babu and Kurumi made the stay amazing. Kurumi is a fantastic cook and I ate her food more times than I care to admit!! Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend for all travellers, especially my fellow backpackers.

Babu was super friendly and had some great conversations. I was impressed by how clean the room and bathroom and overall spaces were. Loved journalling in the terrace while it was raining, very peaceful! Walking distance to the main sights but tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood so it was perfect. Food was also great and for the price, it was worth so much more! Highly recommend

I liked everything.
It was a good choice, nice people, clean place, quiet area. Within a walking distance from the cafes, Kathakali theater, the marina walk, Chinese nets.

Baboo is a brilliant host (and carrom champion). All the people staying here were lovely and I met friends to travel onwards with. The place itself is relaxed, calming and very well maintained.

Baboo was a great host and on hand for any questions. The laundry service was fab and reasonably priced. Great location. Lovely communal area for chilling. Defo reccomend.

Literally everything! I have been welcomed greatly by everyone and was always helped when needed. The room was basic but clean. The common area is very beautiful and the place is surrounded by nature

Good location a few minutes walk into the centre of Fort Kochi. Good size room which was nice and clean. Facilities for making own food or drinks if desired.

I have had couple of surgeries before having to have stayed at Kochill. Babu helped me every time of every day. He looked after me in a very calm and non intrusive way. He was always there for every request that I made as a recovering patient. And he was really helpful and affable with other guests too. The entire staff of this place has 5/5 starts from me. Thank you very much :)

Not as such I dislike. The only thing which caused me a little inconvenience was presence of mosquitoes on the upper floor but it's natural due to large number of trees nearby.
The best thing was the host Babu, he was very friendly, welcoming, always ready to help you with things, caring and make sure you have a comfortable stay. The best part is he loves to have amazing conversations with people and he knows multiple languages. The facilities were amazing, the rooms were clean, well maintained, covered with mosquito nets so everyone can have a comfy sleep. The top floor is amazing with good amount of seating space, if you come in a large group. If you are a solo traveler a variety of collection of books are awaiting for you. There's a carrom board too, so if you are bored and nothing to do just hop on the above floor and play carrom with your friends or fellow travellers. The same floor has rooms too with tier beds. The location is very beautiful, quiet and calm.

Washroom is not attached to the room (in case of the twin/bunk bed room), rest all is good. Would be nice to have hot water in the bathrooms as well.
Room and furniture was really good, staff was nice and accommodating. Overall a great place to spend your nights while you're busy being touristy in the daytime.
