Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThis is an impressive haveli in the old town, right in the heart of everything. 30 seconds walk to Jagdish temple and very close to the palace and lake too. Clean spacious rooms and helpful staff. Rahul on reception is very capable, welcoming, professional and knowledgeable.

United StatesBe warned this is in the Old City with narrow lanes so cars can't get there. There's an airport cartel which from what we can tell forces you to be dropped off (and picked up) at a specific dropoff point (you can get a tuk-tuk the rest of the way). They force it even for Uber pickups. Be aware.
Beautiful hotel, all the leftover marble from building the Taj Mahal apparently went here. :-) Good size rooms, no issues with hot water. There's a rooftop area with stunning views of the City Palace and over the main city. Those marketing photos are real. There's an on-site restaurant and an available breakfast buffet. Room service is available and I'll recommend the Thali which was one of the more impressive ones I've seen. You can get beer, although you're limited to Kingfisher. Location is good -- you're not on the lake but farther back. But it's only a 5-10m walk and pretty much in a straight line. Still close to everything, we had no issues. A special callout to Vijay, Yogendra and Rahul of the restaurant staff for exceptional graciousness and help when both I and my wife were under the weather.

United KingdomThe staff are extremely helpful and considerate. They accommodated our luggage at the beginning and the end of the stay. The room was large and very comfortable. It is in easy reach of the Jagdish temple, the lake and the City Palace as well as numerous restaurants. We were there over Republic Day so was more expensive. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

United StatesOur trip covered many Rajasthan destinations (e.g. Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Jaipur) and we wanted to stay in a"haveli". These are large private residences converted to hotels. So you can immerse yourself in the architecture and get a sense of what it may have been like. I will say confidently this was our favorite "Haveli". The haveli is in a quiet corner, away from the bustle but close to the main attractions, and transport is very very convenient. Starting with front desk, they are very helpful. The morning breakfast and staff are excellent. The rooftop terrace - can take Instagram-able photos; you have the Jagadish temple and the City Palace as backgrounds. The food in the restaurant for dinner and lunch very authentic to Rajasthan cuisine and excellent. The rooms, especially the furniture looks rich and authentic. We suggested some improvements to the bathroom and staff was very responsive to those. Additionally, my husband left his shoes and contacted the staff. They immediately speed posted the shoes to his home in Mangalore. We were very impressed. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

BelgiumThe first impression of the hotel was not great because down the street there was one of the biggest piles of trash we’ve seen in whole Udaipur. I know this can be common around and maybe it is not related to the hotel and they cannot do anything about it, but really the city gave us a rather clean vibe except of this particular corner which is in front of the hotel. It was definitely not pleasant to walk next to it every day and especially at night :) The bedsheets were broken and a bit dirty with something that looked like doesn’t go away at washing. Also the first contact with the staff was a bit cold, but after it got better.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The hot water was working in the bathroom. They offer room service which is nice to have. The breakfast was ok. The staff is in general nice and helpful. The location is ok for tourists because it is close to important places like Jagdish temple and the City Palace.

It wasn't my first time at Kotra Haveli, in fact I stayed there back in 2017- that time hotel was in course of some renovation works, still I loved it!! This time it was even better- all new, in white marbles, lovely and clean rooms, awesome roof top restaurant with delicious food!! And, above all- friendly and helpful staff. I would give 20 stars out of 10!!!!

SerbiaThe rooftop terrace offers amazing views of the City Palace and could be a great option for a candle-lit dinner, however it's not used to its full potential. We hope this will improve in the future, as the hotel really deserves it.
Excellent location close to Jagdish Temple. Comfortable, spacious and clean rooms with large beds and all the necessary amenities, including a hair dryer. Professional and quick service, the staff were very polite and helpful. Tasty breakfast with both Indian and continental options. I had a wonderful stay at Kotara Haveli, with both pros and cons that contributed to my overall experience. **Pros:** The hotel's prime location within walking distance of Jag Mandir and City Palace was incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The cleanliness of the place was commendable, and the food surpassed expectations. The variety and quality of the breakfast spread, along with the rooftop restaurant's breathtaking view of the city and City Palace, added a touch of grandeur to my stay. The courteous host and staff went the extra mile to accommodate us, even keeping the kitchen open when we arrived late. **Cons:** The charming old-world surroundings had a bustling ambiance that might not suit those seeking a tranquil neighbourhood. Additionally, accessing the property with cabs or private cars was challenging due to the narrow lanes. Tuk-tuks are recommended to reach the hotel directly. Despite the minor drawbacks, my stay at Kotara Haveli was marked by its convenient location, exceptional hospitality, and remarkable dining experiences.
