Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaIn room dining wasn’t up to the mark. But plenty of options to order in or visit nearby for your meals we didn’t really mind it.
The property is nicely tucked away from the main road and very close to Ashwem and Mandrem beaches.

United KingdomAlthough the staff in the dining area were very kind, after the first evening, we went out every day for lunch and dinner as the food was particularly poor.. the first evening they had run out of white wine. breakfast was disorganised with all guests eating outside the main dining area and laying their own tables. Some days no coffee, no juice and the waiting staff cooking the breakfasts. We were there 14 days and this meant double taxi rides every day to alternatives. The poor staff don’t seem to get proper days off and work without a break from morning to night. Although a great boutique resort, the dining experience would mean we wouldn’t go back despite lovely staff. We didn’t see a senior manager throughout our stay despite asking for one when they ran out of coffee at breakfast!
The clean accommodation was well-designed, modern and spacious and surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. Friendly staff and good housekeeping service.

United KingdomI was a little stressed before coming about getting a taxi from the airport by myself, so tried to book an airport transfer in advance with the hotel, but I struggled with this despite emailing several times. In the end everything was fine and I downloaded an app at the airport, but this could have been smoother. In fairness to this hotel, all my hotels in India had this issue, so I think it might be a communication issue via booking.com. I also felt a bit isolated in terms of going out and seeing things - I recommend having slightly better resources / organised trips to go do things (again I felt like if I were to just book a taxi somewhere I'd be quite isolated and didn't feel super safe doing this while travelling alone - but if there were e.g. organised tours of certain areas on offer I'd probably have gone on one!)
I had an absolutely lovely time at LaRiSa Ashwem - the staff were all really kind and I felt very at home there, and the place is absolutely stunning (especially the private outdoor bath + outdoor shower!) The food was great too, and I enjoyed the morning yoga sessions. 10/10 would go back again

RussiaThe hotel has a beautiful, calm, cosy territory, where you won’t need to meet neighbors. Rooms, which are separate houses a well-equipped and well maintained- if something doesn’t work - reception organizes fixing. Good food and service at the restaurant, welcoming reception service, we loved it very much and had a really good time. It is a bit far from the beach, we knew that, it was not a problem with us to order a taxi.

The staff's dedication to excellence was instrumental in making our stay at Larisa Resort Ashwen exceptional. Despite a health setback early on, Shalini from guest services proved to be a guardian angel, swiftly organising a trip for us to the pharmacy for the necessary medications I needed. Her swift response set the tone for exceptional service throughout our stay. Shalini's thoughtful arrangements extended beyond my health concerns, orchestrating seamless transportation for us to and back from the Mandrem beach. She would be a significant asset to any organisation. The cottage suite (104) we stayed in was a sanctuary of comfort, with attention to detail in design and amenities that created a home away from home ambiance. The outside shower and bath were a wonderful addition, and the overall layout allowed us to relax and recharge while still being conveniently located for the resort amenities. Our room was maintained by the housekeeping team impeccably and our privacy was consistently respected. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by our culinary experience. Mukesh and his team's exceptional hospitality and commitment to culinary excellence made each meal a memorable journey. The team was open to accommodating any request, even if it wasn't part of the menu. The website's photos fail to capture the true beauty of the lush landscapes on the grounds. Having experienced numerous luxury hotels globally, none compare to the remarkable work of the skilled landscaper and dedicated gardening team who maintain these lush green gardens. Throughout our stay, we experienced a genuine sense of care due to the resort's dedication to guest satisfaction and commitment to exceeding expectations. In summary, our 6-night retreat we took at Larisa Resort Ashwen was a blend of luxury, personalised service, and superb attention to detail.

United StatesThe rooms were a little pricey. It would have been nice if there was a small store for sunscreen or snacks.
Food selection was great and price reasonable. The resort is set far away from other amenities but almost everything we needed was at the resort. The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and fun to interact with. The pool was very clean and never over crowded. Go to the spa! Great services at reasonable prices.

United KingdomI just had few remarks: - Ashwem beach and Mandrem are both within a 20-minute walk, but if you want to save some time and wish to visit other beaches, I recommend renting a bike for convenience. - The outdoor bathtub is spacious and perfect for a late evening soak, although the water pressure is not very strong, so it takes a while to fill. However, the staff was helpful and provided a basket to assist with filling the tub.
The accommodation is nestled in the middle of beautiful isolated gardens. The spacious, cozy, clean, and tidy bedrooms provided a perfect retreat. Additionally, the food at the restaurant was excellent, surpassing the quality of most other restaurants I've tried in the area. It was a truly delightful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

United KingdomThere are really minor areas where attention to detail in housekeeping and service could easily be addressed with a bit more training and supervision, for no other reason than to improve what is already a great guest experience. I spoke to Dev, the Manager and he's already onto it.
A small secluded patch of tropical paradise, tucked away in the countryside on the outskirts of Ashwen. Close to the main village and beach, but far enough away from the hussle. Lovely private timber cottages with all the amenities and each surrounded with beautiful lush gardens. We stayed in one of the larger cottages, which has a living room and bigger patio. The outdoor bath is wonderfully massive and great to relax and read a book in. The outdoor bamboo shower is also fabulous. The rooms are well appointed and a perfect size. The double bed is large and very comfortable. There's free yoga every morning and if you haven't tried it then, do. I did for the first time ever and it really set met up for the day. There's great food and a well stocked bar situated next to the swimming pool. The breakfast plentiful and the lunch and evening meal dishes are delicious. The swimming pool is perfect and there's a sense of partly being in a jungle due to all the beautiful landscaping and planting All the staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. We stayed here for 6 days after 2 weeks mountain and jungle trekking and 4 days in Kolkata and New Dehli. A better antidote you could not ask for. If you want a quiet break in a super relaxed environment then this is the place. I definitely recommend this small discrete resort and I'll also certainly likely stay in one of the other Larisa resorts next time I'm in India.
