Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBecause of my own disability the lack of an elevator was difficult. However, they lugged my suitcases up and down — and I took my time. But an elevator would transform this property to A++.
Staff were amazing and helpful. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

OmanA family owned homestay over many generations, where we felt at home and could meet travellers. Beautifully decorated homestay throughout. The staff were all very welcoming. A huge shout out to Shandti who was particularly supportive throughout our stay. Delicious breakfast. We were very sad to leave.

TaiwanI recently had the pleasure of staying at a cozy guesthouse where the host, Alshay, welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality. The staff member, Shanti, was incredibly friendly and we quickly became friends. The beauty of the room, adorned with special paintings, truly added to the uniqueness of our stay. It was a delightful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a personal touch and a memorable stay.

Beautiful find! Between us we had 3 different rooms and each one was delightful. All spotlessly clean, very comfortable and incredibly stylish. It’s ready for its Conde Nast photo shoot! Hospitality was overflowing with the owner on hand and ready with great advice and help with anything. Fabulous location too, just behind the city palace.

GermanyPlease be aware that taxis cannot enter the narrow lanes to the hotel and there is one specific drop off point which is closest to the hotel (In front of Raj Palace). I didn’t know about that specific drop off point, and also wasn’t told by the owner when having a conversation around my arrival with him, hence had to walk 30min with my luggage through masses of people during holi celebrations, which was quite terrifying tbh. I liked the breakfast, you can order omelettes and pancakes, there is yogurt, bananas and clementines, toast, little plastic sachets of honey, marmalade, Nutella, instant coffee. However, it’s good to be aware that you won’t get a full spread of food options or fresh coffee. I was there during the holi celebration, which was a very intense and exhilarating experience. The only thing I wished was to have been told in advance that there is no restaurant open so that I or the guesthouse could pre-arranged some food.
The little garden guest house is in a great location in the middle of the old city and you can reach anything by foot. My room (deluxe room - elephant) was beautiful. Interior is next level and one can really relax and wind-down in these beautiful rooms coming back from the bustling city (especially during Holi celebrations). Staff is really great and so friendly, special shout out to Akshay (the owner) and Shanti who went above and beyond to provide me and other guests with a great holi festival experience.

ArgentinaBear in mind that there is no lift and stairs are narrow as this is an old building. The staff is very helpful when dealing with luggage but should be something to consider. It didn’t represent a problem for us.
Beautiful haveli in a convenient location. The building and rooms are looked after, very tidy and clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Great breakfast! Staff is very attentive and polite. Would definitely stay there a second time. Great terrace with beautiful views of Udaipur.

NetherlandsWe stayed in the heritage rooms, where the bathroom is across the open sitting area. The sitting area/living room is itself in the open verandah, which opens out to the common courtyard directly. This felt a bit too open and a bit uncomfortable on day one, but we were still given our privacy, and the courtyard itself is quite cool and nice, so we grew accustomed to it. Rooms aren't air-conditioned as advertised, but they were cool enough for ceiling fans to suffice. Having only an overhead shower was a bit uncomfortable for Indian use; an additional hand shower may have helped. The staff gave us shower caps on request, so again, all good.
Very clean, comfortable beds, convenient location, helpful staff. Good, satisfying breakfast. Well maintained property.
