Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo. It was perfect.
It was so beautifully situated on the Indus River. All the staff - especially Jigmet - were so welcoming and bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. Jigmet even took us on a walk to a camel sanctuary, pointing out particular aspects of the landscape and Ladakhi architecture. The food is delicious and you are served so much of it.

The views The tranquility The food Spotlessly clean bungalow with crisp fresh linen and luxury topper. Eco friendly. The incredible staff - special mention to management Jikmet and Prachi - they pay attention to everything and are truly there to take care of you! They provided us with everything we needed, helped us in every way they could for our trip, with grace and a smile on their face. They made everything so so easy for us. Service is hands down better than any 5star hotel we have been to in India. Nico and Mary - such amazing hosts. There is a calm that comes with their presence. It’s like a warm sense of security - it’s quite honestly rare to feel it amongst “strangers.” Indus River Camp is more than just a holiday accommodation - it’s a retreat to nature, a nudge to grounding your senses, a pull to be better human beings. The staff emulate this daily with their kindness. Such a humbling place that people like us who try to find meaning in life, can truly appreciate. If you speak this same language, you will absolutely love it here. A genuine gem in Ladakh - a must stay if/when you’re in the area. We booked for 2 days, we stayed for 4, wish we stayed for 6!

IndiaNothing really. Maybe a fireplace inside the room? (just kidding)
This place is as perfect as one could be. Right on the banks of Indus, with stellar views of the valley, super courteous hosts (Nico, Jigmet, Salman and team were amazing), delicious food (the parwal, kaddu type sabzis we had here would put most five star Niharis and Chettinad Chickens to shame). As we were with kids, the acclimatization hiccups slowed us down. But we didn't really regret this, as the hosts were so caring and the property is breathtakingly beautiful.

This little place, for us it is heaven on earth. From the warm welcome to the stunning view and the beautiful nature area - we love everything, the cottages are clean & lovely, the food was fresh and delicious - but mostly the whole wonderful staff and not to forget the great and fluffy campdog Momo. Indus river camp is just amazing in every aspect. Initially we booked three nights but ended up staying for over one week. Thank you so much for making our stay that special. We will definitely come back.

IndiaMinor quibble - there was no option to have a-la carte dinner, so we were obliged to pay for the entire buffet course even though we weren't that hungry.
The property is simply amazing - super calm and peaceful, and a treat for all your senses. You could spend all day blissfully sitting next to the Indus river, reading a book or simply gazing at the sky. The hosts are very kind and welcoming, and the entire staff is super sweet.

The location of the rooms on the banks of the river Indus was superb. Views of mountains all around were marvellous. The tranquility of the place along with the facilities made for a superb start to our holiday in Ladakh. Food was simple yet delicious---freshly cooked and tasty. All staff were very supportive. On the first day we arrived early and while waiting for our room, the host Nicholas treated us to some very nice tea and locally made Krackjacks. We felt at home immediately. We would highly recommend this place to our friends and family

IndiaNothing major.
We had a wonderful time at The Indus River Camp. Nico, Mary, and the entire crew took really good care of us. The property is located a little outside of Leh city, in the Chuchot village. It's spread wide across the Indus river bank with a small pond, tall trees, lush greenery, and small pathways through it leading here and there. It felt amazing to just wander through it - it was serene and calming. Nico also gave a nice tour of the spots we might have missed otherwise. We also crossed the stream in front of our bungalows to collect pebbles and stones from the Indus. Our rooms were cozy, clean, comfortable, well equipped, and well maintained. The beds were comfy and we all had good sleep. The bathrooms were clean and had running hot water. We could see the distant snow-topped mountains, the Shey palace, and the Thiksey monastery from our room. The night sky was also amazing with the stars and the moon visible so clearly (they also have a telescope at the common area). All the food we had - lunch, breakfast, and dinner - was very good. It was always fresh, homely, served hot, and delicious. Special mention for the Bengali chicken curry, Aloo Jeera, the chicken biryani, and the desserts. The service, throughout our stay from check in to the restaurant to the check out (at 4 AM), was excellent - eager, helpful and friendly. Overall, an excellent experience.
