Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLovely unique stay in Old town Udaipur with fabulous architecture and very helpful staff. We were in awe of the old world charm and decor in our room. Yuvraj was great with very useful tips about exploring the area and Jitendra was just as nice the next day. We had an incident where we accidentally locked ourselves out and the staff were very quick to help, providing us with another room while the issue was sorted (our fault entirely) and we were so pleased with how accommodating they were.

United Arab EmiratesThe ventilation in rooms and bathrooms. There were windows but we were not able to open those.
Like mentioned in the description it's a very old property but very nicely maintained. The rooms are absolutely clean with decent space. Few rooms come with an AC or a room cooler. There is a library within the property and you can take books from there. The location of the property is very close to old city center and they provide e-rickshaw facility for pickup and drop.

IrelandNothing at all 🙂
The building itself is lovely and in a convenient location. The staff are fantastic too, Uvi welvomed me with open arms, the manager offered me an excellent upgrade for my second night at a great rate, and Jaitinder helped me big time to sort some bits and pieces which were causing me stress like recharging my sim card. If you are visiting Udaipur I'd reccommend Madri Haveli, quick walk to all the sights too!

I booked a room at Madari Haveli for my parents in the picturesque lake city of Udaipur. This heritage haveli offered an enchanting experience, reminiscent of stepping into a timeless tale. The breakfast they provided was delightful, adding to the overall charm of our stay. Nestled amidst the beauty of Udaipur's lakes, Madari Haveli truly offers a unique blend of history and hospitality."

It is an old building with so much character right in the centre of Udaipur - you can walk everywhere! The manager was so helpful with tips of what to do. They had a brilliant laundry service that was such good value. It was very quiet and there is also a lovely terrace

United KingdomSome Havelis allow you to BYO, that would have been nice but it wasn't a deal breaker.
This is a delightful Haveli, you get a warm welcome no matter what time of day, with a delicious ginger tea. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It's very comfortable and great value. The restaurant on the roof has a great breakfast, delicious suppers and a superb view. (It is a non alcoholic restaurant). The rooms are lovely and simply decorated, with wonderful showers and comfortable beds. Great wifi.

This small hotel has a really nice and calm ambiance in the heart of Udaipur. Really great to relax after the Indian busy streets. It has beautiful rooms, with eye for detail. Friendly staff. Cute breakfast options.

GermanyA 300 years old Haveli in the ancient town of Udaipur. The very cautious phantastic renovation gives the house a wonderful clear atmosphere. Lovely roof top with plenty of shade. Staff is very nice, and especially the general manager looked after us with great care. If we ever make it again to Udaipur, we‘ll be back! Take care.

GermanyMadri Haveli is very central. We only needed to walk five minutes to the bridge, where we could find very nice restaurants. After 10 minutes you are at the Tempel and five minutes more at the Palace. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious and the view exceptional.

United KingdomI think the price is a little high compared to other places.
We really enjoyed our stay at Madri Haveli. The room was spacious and had all the elements of a haveli. We had a beautiful sitting area with small windows which gave a very authentic vibe. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was spacious with hot water. The breakfast provided was also good with both a Western and Indian option. The location was ideal and in walking distance to all tourist spots.
