Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceVery nice experience in Maji Homestay, we stayed with the family in this nice rural house. Our host, Om, organised everything for us. We had dinner with homemade food, the products are coming from their garden. The house is 15-20 minutes by walk from the temples. That's the perfect place if you want to meet Indian people and learn about the culture and way of life.

PolandWe had a beautiful stay in Maji Homestay. The hosts are kind and helpful people, the food was delicious, the property located in a serene rural area. Our host told us a lot of stories and showed us around which was a great insight into the culture. Thanks a million!

CanadaThe room is rustic, as you would expect for the price. Would have been great if they were a little more on top of the amenities and cleaning. There was no wifi (even though it says there is) and toilet was leaky and bathroom could have been cleaned better.
The family we stayed with was so lovely. They were very attentive and ready to help out with anything we needed. We were happy that this place is only reachable on foot and it was very peaceful. We slept very well here without all the sounds of the city.

IndiaThe bathroom needs maintenance. The rooms should be cleaned each day. A little more variety in the food on offer, no matter that it's vegetarian, would be priceless.
I liked the location because it was just what I was looking for. Far from the thronging crowd, amid nature, surrounded by farmland, waking up to bird calls. A peaceful quiet all around you, and within walkable distance from some of this sleepy town's major attractions, e.g. the Western group of temples. The hosts are very non-intrusive and make every effort to make your stay comfortable. Om Prakash Ji is knowledgeable and helpful.

SlovakiaWe had a great stay at Maji Homestay. It is a stay on farm in the middle of nature, which we liked a lot because it was very peaceful and relaxing. The family is very kind, mother Maji was cooking the best, homemade, healthy meals. We found a good rest here before our next journey. We recommend!

PolandThe last 200 meters of walk has narrow points where you need to be careful not to tear your cloth. It would be good if the owner make it a bit easier to pass. Anyways he helped us to cross it, so we were fine.
Satish, the owner, is a great guy. A person that you like from the first glance. Regarding location, it's kind of a farm house that you need to reach by unpaved road and then some 200 meters of a walk on a narrow path between fields. The Tuk-Tuk drivers on the train station ask a lot of money to reach there, so better take a shared one to the town center and then walk or take another one. Toilet paper and soap were provided, which is not that common for India.

GermanyThe bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner and in the beginning we had to ask for linen, pillow cases, dustbin and toilet paper. But they are still improving. So just ask if you need something they are happy to help.
We really loved and enjoyed our stay at Majis Homestay. The family is so lovely and we were sad when we had to leave. So if you would like to stay there allow yourself a few days longer to get the full experience, to relax, calm down in the nature and enjoy the silence away from the indian chaos. We had good conversations with Satish. His english is great (he is also fluent in spanish), he's well educated, critical and curios. He was also very helpful as he gave us a ride to the Panna Tiger Reserve and good advice for our travels. The food the mother cooked was so delicious! We hope to get there again!

ItalyIt's pretty cozy house in the farm. I love everything there and after the chaos and mess of varanasi and new dehli finally we got a little peace. They were so kind that they came to pick up us in the middle of the night. Khajuraho is a small town with a lot of village around. Maji homestay is behind one of these village, then once we've been dropped off from the motorbike we had to walk still 6 minutes. Then we met the rest of the family, they were so nice with us. And without forget the cutest dog of whole india "Jimmy" We felt so safe with them and we played sometimes some games with the kids and family we (my wife and me? really appreciate the time we lived there. Keep in mind that you are in a farm with cows and buffalos, not in a hotel. And the heart of this people was really a bless for us. We planned just to stay one night but at the end we stayed for 8 nights, canceling some plans as visit other places and cities, we found india there. If you want to feel safe and in good company surely you can miss this place. Om, Satish, father, mother, Om's wife and children and of course Jimmy too. I wish all you the best and we hope one day come back there. Namaste 🙏

Best what you can get when you want to be in peace and nature. GermanyAfter the stress, chaos and scams from new delhi and varanasi me wife and me escaped to khajuraho trying to find something a little more relaxed. And we were soooo lucky to find this homestay. Satish came to pick us up in the middle of the night because our safety. He is working in the farm taking care of animals as well. They have buffalos, cows and the cutest dog of the whole india (Jimmy). Om (Satish's brother) is always working too in the farm, he is really nice and I asked him to help him in the farm juts because I wanted to get the experience and it was soo amazing and funny and I gonna be always so gratefu with himl because his patience. Their parents are really lovely people, the mother has always cooked something for us and it was always so delicious! you can always feel with her like a child, she is so nice. And she can cook not spicy food as well. The father isl always working in the farm as well but he was an Indian priest before (he looks really wise) he was always taking care of us (like a real father) The place is a real farm and the experience is a real farm life. Then don't expect to get luxuries, laundries room, to don't get maybe some mosquitos or a perfect mobile wifi connection like in a big city., You are in a farm in India! Khajuraho is like a small town with a lot of village around and this home stay is into one of these villages but really close to temples and "city/town" and surely it's not so messy like in New delhi, varanasi.

United KingdomNo WIFI! There was very poor phone signal at the farm and for a hotel that is set back from local amenities they really need to offer a modem connection. They told me they will fix this. ;-)
I loved the peaceful location in which the farm is situated. Some may feel that it is a little far from the centre but in reality it is just a 25 minute stroll passing temples and the local neighbourhood (the residents were all very friendly, one family even invited me in for chai!). Mother Maji created sumptuous meals with most ingredients being sourced from the surrounding fields. 🥰 One of my favourite moments during the stay was watching vintage Bollywood on my iPad with Vrindavan (the father). The two brothers Om and Satish went out of their way on many occasions to help me explore the local area and assisted with ticket bookings to local attractions. Their dog Jamie was adorable. 🐾 I will definitely return in the future. Thank you. 🙏🏼
