Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere are a lot of hotels that use the descriptor of boutique, but The Postcard Mandalay Hall really fits the bill. Small, beautifully repurposed with thoughtful artwork and furniture and a lovely private pool. The Postcard Mandalay Hall’s attentive staff want to make sure everything you need or want is attended to. The location, steps from the clock tower and historic synagogue, is lovely. It is has the potential of being a busy street with tourists during the day but it’s also a pedestrian street which means it is quiet at night. Also, the cafes and shops around make it easy to explore and grab a coffee or snack just outside your door. There’s a lot to items to choose from antiques to hand smocked items and beautiful hand made lace. Also, the water is minutes away by foot with the Dutch Palace a short stroll as well as other historical places. There’s another hotel on the water minutes away so you can have a cold one in their restaurant and look out at the port and watch the boats and water fowl. Our bigger hotel on the other side of Kochi was pleasant but, The Postcard Mandalay is in another category. It’s really is a beautiful place to stay at and enjoy. We were so comfortable there and so enjoyed the space of Gallery 1. Based on this experience, we forward to staying at other Postcard properties.

United KingdomFantastic welcome to this tranquil oasis in an old house of charm and character in the Jewish quarter. An upgrade to Gallery 1 was a lovely surprise. This room is incredibly cool and design-led with concrete walls with artist designed chalk murals. The bed is fabulously comfortable. A free standing bath with home blended salts takes centre stage in an open plan wash area and there is an excellent rain shower. Due to the heritage nature of the area all is quiet from 9pm so while the room overlooks the characterful street full of antique shops and design crafts it is tranquil at night. The hotel is also a dry hotel in respect of the location, so for travellers wishing a hotel with more bar restaurant vibes this is no gin palace. What it is, is great - staff are wonderful - thanks to Renjith the GM, Chef Prejith and the kitchen for the fantastic flavours of Kerala, proudly presented, and supporting team including Ajith and Vivek. With a tropical garden, library and a fresh water pool for languishing this is a beautiful retreat from the searing heat of the action - which is easily reached by auto rickshaw or walking. Here you can really rest in creativity.

United KingdomUnfortunately, air conditioning failed during night leading to less than perfect night's sleep! Restaurant food is great, but inside it is quite stark and lacks something in atmosphere - no plants, paintings, just plain tables. Outside courtyard is nicer.
Special boutique hotel, with style, history, and great staff. Food quality, flavour and presentation at dinner and breakfast both excellent. Fabulous location on quaint street near synagogue and Palace. As street is pedestrianized, manager personally met our car at the end of the street and ensured everything was taken care of. Same at departure. Room or, should I say, Gallery was a work of art. Not your average hotel room. Bed was the most comfortable we've had in 3 weeks in India. All in all a memorable experience - shame it was only for one night!

Beautiful historic building with good restorations, tastefully decorated. The staff were superb. The first day the breakfast was amazing, the second morning they must have had a different chef because the food taste was noticeably different.

SingaporeThe food is excellent however we felt that the menu was limited and could be more extensive, especially if we have been having the same meals over the 4 days of our stay.
Renjith and team were amazing during our entire stay, as they would go above and beyond to ensure every single need is taken care of, and they would never say no :) They were all extremely nice and helpful, especially in taking care of my mother-in-law's needs since she is wheelchair-bound. We would definitely return to the Postcard in Kochi again!

United Arab EmiratesFrom my daughter: when we went To our hotel it was like an art gallery, in the Morning things were good, the breakfast was Yummy. I'd like to thank Renjith, Robin and his team for saving our Kochi trip and giving us incredible memories! Your hospitality was heart-warming and has made me committed to try out the other Postcard hotels in India. The hotel is built out of a 200+ years old Jewish home and is located on a UNESCO protected area. Beauiful rooms and beautiful food!
