Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

A wonderful quaint property at the end of the town. Away from all the hustle bustle nestled in between a mini forest right below the fort. Just so perfect to have a cool quiet time. I was here for a work from home setup and it worked great for me. Just what i wanted. The staff was super friendly and kind. Accommodated to all my needs. Sajjan the manager is such a great guy, spent plenty time chit chatting with him during my free time. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, rustic looking dog friendly place.

IndiaIt was an exceptional experience. The property is beautiful itself and well maintained, clean. It's in a commercial part of Goa but in a very calm and peaceful part of it, you don't feel like you're in a busy place at all. The staff was amazing, we got an upset stomach 1 day due to outside food and they cooked us ganji which immediately helped us to recover. They all are so nice and helpful in terms of anything actually. Food was also very delish. Overall the best place I stayed in India I can say.

United KingdomCommunication, WhatsApp without permission from multiple numbers, demands for bank transfer not advertised at the time of booking, overcharge for airport transfer were the only annoyances.
Interesting building, pleasant rooms with AC in the bedroom, breakfast was great. The location was great for the very short walk to Sinquerim beach, Kandolim a short walk. Good places to eat nearby.

United StatesMarbella Guest House exceeded all of our already high expectations! It was in a perfect location, close to the historic fort, beach and restaurants. The common areas were beautiful - particularly the garden area - and our room was incredible; even better than the pictures! The breakfast was amazing and Sajjan, the property manager, was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We’d give this 12/10 and can’t wait to return!

Australiathe mosquitoes at night in bed at times were annoying but we dealt with it - is it possible to have nets in all the rooms? we saw an upstairs room with net but we were downstairs without one
breakfast options themselves were good but didn' t really like having to pay extra in another category when you only had an average size breakfast - for example having some of your nice fruit in a bowl then a slice of toast and an omlette would cost money when just having that ought to be free - if i were to have a large breakfast i can understand being charged extra money - just my opinion - staff were brilliant

LithuaniaThe bed was quite uncomfortable, and they prefer you pay by cash which is a bit annoying since you end up having to carry a wad of 500 rupee bills. On the other hand, they are very helpful so you could probably agree on a payment by bank transfer.
Impressive building & room interior in a very calm area with a nice garden. The staff were very helpful, the food was incredible: you pretty much have a personal cook. A 10 minute walk to the sea on a not too busy street with a few places to grab some street food or chai.

AustraliaProperty is a bit far from everything as we did not have a bike. Beach and restaurant is a good 20 minute leisurely walk, but considering the humidity and heat walking can be uncomfortable. Bathroom had weird smell most likely from the pipes.
Beautiful place. Pretty architecture with lots of plants; very tropical, holiday feeling which was relaxing. Staff were friendly and food was amazing!

Nestled within the serene landscapes of Goa, the colonial guest house proved to be an exquisite retreat. The tranquil ambiance, adorned with lush greenery and vintage aesthetics, bestowed an enchanting allure upon the surroundings. The panoramic view from the guest house was nothing short of breathtaking, affording a sense of seclusion that harmoniously coexisted with its convenient proximity to the beach, shopping havens, and culinary delights. The meticulous attention to detail in preserving the colonial charm added a timeless elegance to the establishment. The rooms exuded an old-world charm, creating a haven of tranquility amidst the bustling attractions nearby. The amalgamation of quietude and accessibility rendered this guest house a rare gem in the heart of Goa's vibrant milieu. However, it was not just the architectural marvel that left an indelible mark on my sojourn, but the unparalleled hospitality orchestrated by the maestro of management, Mr. Sajjan. His remarkable acumen for ensuring guest satisfaction transformed the experience into a symphony of comfort and efficiency. Mr. Sajjan's unparalleled attentiveness and resourcefulness elevated the stay, leaving an indelible impression of warmth and professionalism. In summation, this colonial abode in Goa transcends the ordinary, offering a harmonious blend of tranquility, accessibility, and vintage allure. An ode to timeless elegance, punctuated by the orchestrations of the exceptional manager, Mr. Sajjan, this guest house stands as a paragon of hospitality in the vibrant tapestry of Goa's hospitality landscape.

United KingdomThe bathroom needs some attention as water collected on very slippery tiles which was a health hazard. The comfort of the room would be improved with a double bed rather than a small queen bed as there was enough space.
Tranquil setting, good food and the staff were helpful and friendly. Location was quite good for access to the beach and Fort Aguada. The property had an old fashioned charm. We enjoyed our stay.
