Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThis is an excellent property. Had a pleasant stay here. The property is too beautiful and can't be described with words. Must visit to experience how nature, heritage and luxury blend together to provide you with an exceptional five star experience.

IndiaDid not like the fuss created by the hotel front desk team on changing the name of the guest using the room for 2 days. They forced me to pay additional money for double occupancy in spite of only one person staying in the room for each night. The excuse they gave me for this was as the booking is through booking.com, hence they cannot make any changes. But happily changed room to double occupancy to get extra money from me. Not expected such experience from Mayfair.
Beautiful and huge facility. It's like living in a jungle resort right in the middle of the city. Full of artifacts and show pieces everywhere. Lot of greenery and flowers, birds n butterflies. Courteous staff all over the hotel will greet you with a smile every time you meet them. Lagoon and the Shiv Mandir by the side of it were great. Jogging track was a bonus.

GermanyThere were lots of confusion during online booking. I was asked to pay on a different link despite my booking through booking.com, otherwise my booking won't be confirmed. My questions were not responded to by the online support team and with much difficulties I contacted the staff and got the clarification. Also few days before arrival, I was asked to do an e-checkin, the link was not actually available online. With much difficulty again, I was able to connect to staff of the hotel to understand the problem. The number mentioned on the hotel website is not that of the property itself but some sort of head quarters and they give you a different number. And then I was asked to bring few more documents on arrival. Such information should be specified beforehand. So, I would say support before arrival was lousy and troubling and needs to be improved. Just one small note on the property itself, a reading light in general by bedside would be very convenient.
Hospitality was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful onsite. Breakfast menu was extensive and very appetizing. Rooms were nice and clean and amenities were good.

IndiaOur bathrooms (in 2 of our rooms) had a bad sewer smell and needs to be fixed.
Hotel is like a mini museum with artifacts across the entire property (every nook and corner is beautifully decorated even though there is a mixed theme to the decoration - Indian, Greek, Thai etc). The executive rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated with large connecting bathrooms. The property has many restaurants (though a bit overpriced for the quality).

ChinaThe floor in the restaurant should be cleaned after each client (under the tables), otherwise it’s dirty. I guess a lot of people come with kids and so a lot of food goes under the table

United StatesI was disappointed that they ran out of all but one beer (this surprised me), I ordered the only one they had (500ml Budweiser) and they brought me a 330 ml Budweiser and charged me for 500 ml and were unwilling to adjust the price. For a very high end hotel this is unacceptable behaviour.
The facility was truly amazing. Well kept. Interesting and fun

IndiaThe staff at the reception was very courteous except for a very sidey mention that I cannot entertain anyone inside the room. I am not used to these kind of statements being made and this is not my experience staying in other five star properties. I don't know if they say this to their male guests who travel alone or it is meant only for female lone travellers like me. It left a bad taste. There were more family crowds and of course the guests who were attending multiple events. There were some events taking place where the music was blaring through the first half. I had to take an urgent work call sitting in the bathroom. This looks like a place where lot of events take place so even if you book a room remmember to ask for a room away from the venue areas. There was also some renovation work going on and throughout there was noise right outside my balcony where drilling and naiIing was going on. I couldn't even take an afternoon nap. Not expected of a star rated resorts. They shouldnt ideally open up these rooms for occupation till they have finished the renovation work. I was perplexed initially and later upset by the sentry who would keep asking me my room number to ensure I was staying in the resort. This is the person who stands guard inside the hotel premises where there is an entrance to the hotel rooms. I felt insulted by this when I realised that other guests were not being asked this question. The single men who went past the sentry didnt have to answer any questions. Only I did because I am assuming I was a lone woman. After being asked the sixth time in two days I confronted him and asked him why he is asking me this repeatedly. He had no answer. I reported this to the reception later on. As a woman who is paying for my room I have equal rights to be respected as any other man. I therefore, would not recommend this to a solo women traveller. They are probably better off travelling to a more broad minded hotel.
I travelled alone to Bhubaneshwar as part of my annual solo travel ritual and was staying at Mayfair while I was there. The property in itself is gorgeous. Beautifully set and the art collection displayed inside the property in itself is commendable. It has multiple restaurants too all of which are done in style. The staff was generally very courteous. The breakfast spread was good as in such places. What made it unique was availability of fresh juices and options for it. I had multiple rounds of sugarcane juice freshly extracted. The water was served in glass bottles in the room which is a good move to prevent plastic consumption. The pool is beautiful although small
