Autos from and to Ostel can be on the more expensive side, especially since it is near Auroville. Easiest way to get around would be to get a scooty or e-bike. Rental spots for these are all accessible from Ostel.

I've travelled to various hostels around the world, and this is hands down one of the best hostel experiences I have had. Every detail of the stay at Ostel was beautifully planned and executed by the team. 1. The staff is incredible - they are immensely warm, kind, and committed to ensuring that guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience. 2. The location is right on the beach! You could take a dip in the water every day if you wanted. Serenity Beach is a 30min walk/8minute auto ride, where can surf, skate, watch sunrise/sunset at the beach. It's almost too good to be true. I had a chance to surf every day during my stay at Ostel. 3. The cafe food and staff are awesome. The food was delicious and felt just like home. Great flavor and variety. 4. The property is gorgeous - there's a courtyard, beautiful rooftop lounge, large windows, lush greenery, and a pool that faces the beach. 5. They have great in-house activities. I had a chance to attend a music jam night and a tango night. They also have fantastic recommendations for events, lessons, and activities in the area. The team was also very supportive in helping me and other Ostel folks with transportation to different areas - whether by rented scooter/bike or auto. 6. P.S. There's even a weightlifting gym a 5min walk away if you're a gym rat like me. The whole experience is incredible. Don't miss out. If you're into meeting good folks - Adya, Arjun, Anil, JP and so many more lovely souls in the Ostel team will make your trip unforgettable. If you're looking for a quiet solo experience, rest assured this is also a great spot for you with accessible solo activities and restaurants all around Ostel.

I was a bit hesitant to book 8 sharing Sea facing dormitory. But, surprisingly the room had good space and great beds with beautiful sea view. This hostel has good terrace and in the nights we can sit for a while and enjoy the cool breeze and can stargaze. People in the reception are cordial. Don't book this hostel through booking.com as it hides the 12% tax during reservation and later when you pay to hostel it won't feel good. Additionally if we book throught Oestel official website the swimming pool access will be free. The property pet Mojo (Labrador) 🐶 was a cute and fun. Perfect for group of boys, They can sit in the beach until midnight and chill.

That I didn't get to stay longer, and that I didn't book the private room. But that's on me!

My friend and I stayed at Ostel last weekend, and I only have good things to say! The rooms? 10/10 The cleanliness? 10/10 The food? 10/10 The vibe? 20/10 The view? 1000000/10 100% Recommend for groups, solo trips, and even a quick getaway with bae (they have this private room with the most incredible view, you can't miss on it! Definitely booking it next time) So, we stayed in the 8-bed dorm, which, again, had the best best view, and I'm sure after seeing the pictures, you won't disagree. Oh and you know what took our whole weekend to another level? The folks at Ostel! You'll definitely meet Adya, Arjun, Prabesh, Shri, and they'll make sure your trip is everything you imagined and more (I recommend their recommendations)! Now that I know you're convinced, hope you enjoy your stay at Ostel as much as we did! Don't forget to chill on the deck or by/in the pool, grab a bite (or ten) at the cafe, and I don't need to tell you to take plenty of pictures because you will anyway.

The food in the Cafe was a bit overpriced.

The rooftop terrace is simply wonderful! The rooms are also really nice, with big bathrooms attached and all the things one would need. They have a neet system going on with an app where one does all the purchases within the premise like food and laundry etc. which allows one to pay everything by card, which I think is super convenient.

Staying in the Dormitory at Ostel was genuinely a unique and incredible experience! I formed numerous meaningful connections during my time there. Adya's enthusiasm and ability to organize engaging activities made the stay even more enjoyable. And the culinary delights from their Inside kitchen are an absolute must-try. Without a doubt, Ostel now holds the top spot on my list for future visits.
