Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanySomething to be aware of: the property has a lot of stairs, some of them pretty narrow and steep. I didn't have trouble with that, but people with mobility issues might.
The property is centrally located, so most places are within walking distance. It is run by a family who couldn't be more welcoming and kind. Even before I arrived, when my bus from Jodhpur was delayed, the owner called me to make sure everything was well. They also prepared some food for me when I arrived even though it was late and the restaurant was about to close. My room was nice with a very comfortable bed. The best feature was without a doubt the balcony with an amazing view over Udaipur and Lake Pichola. Incredibly beautiful to see the city wake up in the morning and then lit up in the evening.

IndiaClimbing the stairs was a task. But that was a known feature for me I guess as it was in the old city. The toilet seat in the deluxe room is beneath another staircase. So it was a bit uneasy to sit through with the head touching the staircase above. Rest was fine.
The location was good. The host and staff were good. The view was perfect.

United KingdomThere are a lot of stairs, but this is the same for most accommodation in the town. It was a shame not to have good outside space for the other rooms. Even when there was balcony access there was another by comfortable to sit on. The staff did not seem to be fully engaged, and for us it would have been helpful to have an English speaker available.
Location is superb, the view is spectacular. We stayed in three rooms on three floors. The best room was the cheapest on the first floor of the guesthouse. It has a wonderful lounge area outside which was perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Roshi, the owner, was very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful view from the terrace and the room and very good location. Breakfasts and dinner at the guest house's restaurant were very tasty. Also must mention that the owner and the staff at the guesthouse were extremely friendly and very helpful.

United StatesWe had issues with the wifi but this has been the case all over India. The staff did everything they could to help address it but we ended up relying on our data plans.
This is a lovely guesthouse in the middle of Udaipur. We stayed in a queen room and our balcony had 2 private beds to lay on, this was a wonderful place to enjoy the view in the morning and evening. If it's available, request to stay on the first level of guest rooms where this room is located, the floor up has similar rooms but the balcony is shared and does not have lounge beds. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was a decent size, the bathroom was clean, and the AC and fan worked well though we didn't really need to use them. I would highly recommend this place for a short or long stay in Udaipur. It's also worth mentioning that the restaurant was good and the location is walkable to everything you'd want to see in the city.

We had a very comfortable and memorable stay at this guest house. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and we loved having a private outdoor area to sit and relax. The restaurant view was just stunning, and the food was some of the best. And the owner Roshi and his family could not have been more helpful. The hospitality of this family is outstanding. We had a large package to carry and he organised to have it sent to the last hotel of our trip so we didnt have to carry it with us. Thankyou for a beautiful memory.

United KingdomThe WiFi connection didn't really work in our room, but worked OK on the balcony where we spent most of our time. The restaurant/hotel staff work their socks off but they don't speak any English, which can make things difficult. Roshi's English is perfect and he was only a WhatsApp away though.
The room was clean and comfortable, the shower had hot water, Roshi the owner/manager was super helpful and available at all times over WhatsApp, the food at the restaurant was pretty good, and when we had laundry it was done very well. But most of all the location is excellent and the view from our balcony (and from the rooftop restaurant) was perfect.

United KingdomBeware, there are a lot of stairs (but the view makes it worthwhile. And they helped us with bags.). Room is compact.
The amazing view. Must be one of the best views of the Lake and Lake Palace. Location was good for visiting the City Palace. Plenty of restaurants locally, but food here we found very good. Family run place, friendly. Clean and comfortable.

AustraliaWe were on the top floor and had 65 steps up and back. The service at the restaurant was a bit slow and the mattresses were hard.
A lovey little guesthouse down a quiet side street near the temple. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. The view from the rooms was magnificent over the lake. The people running the guesthouse were pleasant and helpful, especially when I injured my head.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at the Peacock. Roshi was a great host, giving us useful information about Udaipur and helping us plan our stay. The rooms are clean and ours had a lovely terrace overlooking Lake Pichola. The rooftop restaurant serves really good food and the staff are very friendly. We’d definitely stay at the Peacock again when we’re back in Udaipur.

United KingdomWe visited during the wedding season, and there was a lot of noise from the surrounding clubs and hotels during the night. If you are someone who wants to sleep early and is a light sleeper, we recommend staying a little bit further out from the center.
The view from the room was so beautiful. The room was also spacious and filled with lots of light. The rooftop restaurant was amazing, and the food was some of the tastiest Indian cuisine that we tried in Udaipur. We had some issues with the wifi, but Roshi quickly solved the problem with us. The location was also exceptional. We could go anywhere on foot.

PolandThis is not a fault of this property, but I didn't like the noise of the party from other hotels (2 nights/all stay) at night. Smoke from the other hotels from their bonfires from the roof. Peacock itself was peaceful and quiet, it is just a tourists area.
Room with a view on the lake and City Palaca. Close to main attractions. Comfortable and clean rooms with hot water. Very nice host and staff. Very comfortable common area. Restaurant on the roof with tasty food (breakfast, dinner, lunch) and fast service (not that common in other hotels).

NetherlandsIt can be extremely noisy at night. The room is not isolated so bring your ear plugs, really a must. It was overpriced due to the 'high season' at the end of December.
The view was amazing from our room. The room itself is basic but a has a comfy bed. The family that runs the business is very friendly and helpfull. They arranged a taxi for us to the airport.

United KingdomNothing If you have mobility issues ask for ground floor as there are many steep steps to climb for that amazing view
What a location absolutely fabulous we were on the top floor with fabulous views of the lake. Roshi and is parents were super hosts nothing was too much. We especially appreciated the butter chicken made for our daughter as she has nut allergies. Learn some basic Hindi so you can communicate with the locals especially when ordering food …..we had some funny miscommunications Would return in a heartbeat
