Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe stayed at in the firs floor of the Old bunglow at Pepper trail. It was a huge spacious level, with lovely greenery on all sides. Loved the room and the balconies. The infinity pool was amazing, you can see the rolling greens and hear all the bird sounds while enjoying the pool. Some great bird walks. Kishore, the resident naturalist gave us some amazing bird watching tours around the plantation. Food was great! Management was super helpful and made our stay really enjoyable, thank you.

IndiaThis property is right in the middle of the forest. The fact that you’re closer to nature feels soothing to the eyes as well as to the heart. It’s a perfect place to unwind. The stay comes with a few recreational activities at the property. They offer a decent variety of food for in-house guests. The infinity plunge pool overlooking the forest was perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset.

AustraliaPepper Trail is a glorious place. I can’t speak highly enough of it. Our pool villa was just fantastic and we made full use of the pool as it is heated to a nice temperature. It was incredible being in the middle of the forest. You might think it could be claustrophobic but it wasn’t at all. Watching the monkeys work their way across the trees in front of our villa , and one come down to sit at the edge of our pool, was magical. We did lots of walks around the property and nearby areas. It is very quiet on the small roads and the tracks through rice fields. In addition, Pepper Trail has a naturalist who will take you on walks and help you with birdwatching. Gayitri is very knowledgeable and a lovely person. All the staff are kind and helpful and the food is delicious.

Everything about Pepper Trail was amazing. As soon as I entered the gates It felt so tranquil. I stayed in a premium villa, which is really large and airy and has a veranda for watching the birds during the day or just relaxing. The pool area is so peaceful, surrounded by tropical flowers & plants. All the staff went out of their way to help with anything, they were very knowledgeable about all the wildlife, plants and spices. The food here is great too, if I had one small quibble, it’s that you always got way too much food. I would highly recommend Pepper Trail.

United Arab EmiratesNothing.
Our stay at the Pepper Trail was absolutely outstanding. I would go so far to say this was one of my favourite holidays ever. The first thing that made our trip so memorable was the incredible location and accommodation. All the villas are spaced out so you feel like you have the place to yourselves. The facilities were exceptional. The pool is the most beautiful pool I have ever used! My villa had a huge balcony from which I could really relax and enjoy the jungle surroundings. It was huge. The pictures do not do it justice at all. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. So lush peaceful and tranquil. I was there for five days and we had breakfast lunch and dinner there daily. This was the best food I have ever had. The variety on offer for me as a vegetarian was wonderful. What made our stay so memorable was the incredible staff. They were absolutely superb. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly helpful, smiling, engaging. They couldn’t have done more for us. The service was second to none.

NetherlandsNothing really. Having lunch and dinner at the restaurant is not cheap (750rs pp), but for us (who just wanted to relax at the resort for 2 days) manageable.
Amazing accommodation, located in the middle of huge spice, coffee and tea plantations, managed by the owners. Stayed in the Mackenzie suite, really cool suite, breathing colonial history. Really amazing place, nice food, very polite and approachable staff. The infinity pool is has the best view I’ve ever had from a pool. Of course not cheap, but worth every penny.

IndiaThe only suggestion we'd have is for the restaurant to enable an à la carte option in the menu for those who may not need as much quantity as served per person within the fixed set. That would help in reducing food waste too!
Pepper Trail exceeded our expectations in terms of luxury and attention to detail by every single member of the staff. From the way that the heritage Mackenzie suite has been 'lovingly restored' with handpicked furniture and decor to the landscaping and green cover of plantations, the quality of food and hot beverages served to the conversations with nature experts on the property, we truly lapped it all up. Most of all, we appreciated the key ingredient of thoughtfulness they added to create a memorable and comfortable stay for us.

United StatesThe jets in the pool villa were not working but the staff fixed it for us .
We spent three nights at Pepper Trail and haven't stopped recommending it to family and friends! The setting is stunning - green and lush vegetation on a coffee (and tea) estate that seems to go a long way. Food was excellent - we had dinner there every night and the vegetarian fixed menu was tasty, varied and beautifully presented. The jeep ride through the estate was informative and great fun, as was the bird walk with Gayathri. All the staff were helpful and friendly. A peaceful and relaxing stay in a remarkably beautiful setting - what more could you ask for?
