Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOne thing to note is that you are a short drive from Lake Pichola, plus a boat ride to the hotel. For us, this was all part of the serenity and the experience was very unique. But you are away from the main action. Depending on what time of year you travel, do be aware of mosquitos as you are on a lake so we found they were quite bitey.
The hotel & grounds are simply stunning, the view incredible - it's worth exploring the beautiful gardens on foot and getting a feel for the vast property. The room was spacious and bright with a balcony and views over the lake. The service is really next level, everyone is very attentive and sweet with it. Nen and the whole butler team looked after us so well, spoiling us with treats for my birthday and looking after my husband when he was unwell. The pool area was always quiet when we used it - the team were quick to bring towels and a cool box with water and other supplies. We had drinks and dinner in the Long Bar - Tamal made one of the best Martinis we've ever had, and his old fashioned is perhaps the 8th wonder of the world. Manesh looked after us by the pool and again in the evening at dinner, going above and beyond with sweet little touches.

GermanyThough maybe not particular to the hotel, but the experience at the salon wasn't amazing. We went for hair/make up/ saree draping. Though I was absolutely pleased with my makeup, the Hair and saree experience were underwhelming. On a separate note, we found some of the food prices a tad bit high (and I'm from NYC), but I guess as expected at a 5 star resort.
WOW What a hotel! If you're in Udaipur and want to enjoy a little heavenly Oasis, then you must stay at the Raffles! We went for a wedding so that's the main reason for staying there, but wow we were just impressed by everything. The room (spectacular), the food (delicious), the facilities (amazing), the grounds (beautiful). From the moment you are greeted to get on the boat which takes you to the island where the hotel is to the moment of checkout, the experience was amazing. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful! Highly recommend all those visiting to at least enjoy an evening or two at this palace.

IndiaThe pricing of the food items it too steep. For one meal for 2 (nothing fancy) the bill comes out to about Rs.5000. This is especially steep when there are no other places to eat around the property
Everything. The location, the view, the welcome and the hospitality.

IsraelThe only thing that needed an improvement was breakfast. When the place is packed, you'll need to wait for a table (we waited one time for 20 minutes) as they dont really have enough tables for all rooms. Also, the waiting time to get the food was pretty long and there weren't a lot of international food options at the buffet. But even that was ok as the staff was very helpful and did their best to fix everything.
First of all, the property is absolutely stunning! Everything is clean and looks brand new. The room was spacious and beautiful. Second, the service was the best I have ever had. They are taking care of anything you can think of with the highest standards and always with a smile. It was a perfect stay!

IndiaIn plain simple words, this hotel lacked the warmth of Indian Hospitality. It comes from the brand and its DNA. We were applied coming from Oberoi and taj Lake palace. First of all, the hotel was designed for weddings. There are dedicated places for rituals and parties. The hotel lacked functional areas, for kids and activities. Not even a single activity was offered complimentary with the room. The staff was too mechanical and cold. There were no price uniformities, we were charged different prices on our bill than what was stated in the menu prices on 3 occasions. We raised this matter with the staff, they said they will look into it, but no rectification was made. We were charged for baby food when no Indian Brand ever charged us for baby food. Further, There is only one restaurant for lunch that too with minimal vegetarian options. Overall the hotel was beautiful but it lacked soul.
We were curious to visit the first Raffles property in India and decided to add this to our trip. The property is well maintained, located on a beautiful lake and the room with a private pool was beautiful.

IndiaThe service was incredible. We were a group of 6, celebrating two birthdays. They gave us complimentary cake, decorated the room with photos and gave a gift as well. Vikram from the butler team helped plan everything out and Chef Rawat graciously made our food separately since we had a member with a nut allergy. They were all very nice and helpful and would definitely recommend staying here with family. + The views are great and the rooms are huge, clean and very comfy.

Saudi ArabiaThe place is really secluded so you need to consider the timing of your arrival and departure. Wifi connection could be improved.
Gorgeous property in the middle of a lake, it is secluded there aren't any other properties in the area unlike Lake Pichola which is where all the famous properties are located. It is around 35 minutes away by car from the historic center. The place is new and offers amazing nature and views over the lake. The communication with the property prior to our arrival was excellent they responded to my queries very quickly and they contacted me one day before our arrival to arrange for our arrival since you need a boat to reach the property. A wide range of activities to do, so you will not get bored at all, some are free and some at an additional and reasonable cost such as hiking, yoga, tennis, shooting and even cooking classes. The Spa was amazing one of the best messages thanks to Tshering for the great message. Outstanding service the staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time, special thanks to Nikita who did her best to accommodate our needs during the stay.

IndiaBit difficult to get out once you’re at the property but I guess that’s the charm of the place too. Food options in the multi cuisine restaurant are a bit limited if you’re staying at the property for a few days at a stretch.

United KingdomKids club facilities was disappointing and below expectations to offerings from other luxury resorts. So much more can be done with the space available. Arts and crafts, learning nature and the natural world around them, children’s, perhaps universal TV shows, books should be included as part of kids club….

United KingdomNearly all the Food is very spicy (except the pasties) which was great for us, but not well suited to many international travelers. One of the restaurants was closed (not yet open) the other two restaurants had identical menu expect one was a cookery school with open kitchen and the other was set on the terrace, so there was just one choice of restaurant really. The pastry kitchen had a good selection of French style pastries, which I'm not sure were all made in house as claimed, but still a nice alternative. The steam room was not set up properly so was scoldingly hot and there was no jacuzzi, which was a shame. The building and grounds look great today, but are going to be high maintenance to keep looking good due to some poor design ideas, including painting the entire exterior which is going to need repainting every few years to stay looking good! I'm really just picking up on minor imperfections, the hotel really is very good overall and I highly recommend!
Raffles is a truly great hotel with a real touch of class and exceptional service that goes that extra mile. Undoubtedly one the best 5 star hotels in India, it has almost everything for the luxury traveler who demands the very best in hospitality. It's grounds and gardens are stunning, it's interiors are grand and it's location on a private Island make it Udaipurs best kept secret. Staff are all well trained and attentive with real attention to a personal experience for guests. Food was excellent and the chef was a true legend serving an amazing breakfast and fabulous local food in the evening! The Spa and treatment I had was also sensational, a really spacious relaxing space with an excellent team. Pool area was also fabulous. It's the attention to detail that puts this hotel well above the competition.
