In short this is a value for money Hotel and best for students like me who want to travel with less money

This is a great place to stay in udaipur, is central and near the lake, but isn't noisy The rooms were comfortable and cool and hot showers straight away, The staff are helpful and let me check in early after my overnight train which i really appreciated The cafe on the top floor is great lovely views nice place to relax and the food and service was top notch

It was very loud the night of our stay - check ahead to see if live music is on if you want a quiet night! Also seemed to be lots of activity and people coming up and down the stairs and turning on corridor lights throughout the night. The room could have been a bit cleaner too.

Very handy location, safe and well-managed. We were extending our stay in Udaipur for 1 night and had to move accommodation, so was a brief stay only. They let us check in early which was very helpful. Comfy bed.

Staff at the reception. Some of them were rude and ignorant. They were least concerned about some of the requests. Even after making considerable requests to have a lower bed in a dormitory which was available the entire time, this guy at reception, Shiva, outrightly refused the request and told me that I can have my money back and look someplace else.

Loved staying at Shalom Backpackers Udaipur!! View was amazing, staff were all so caring and helpful and rooms were clean. This was so much more than we expected , what a great stay🤩 Thanks to Jolly for all his kindness as well!!

Rules not followed by the people who stay in the dormitories. Outside people coming to room and drinking in the dormitory, not respecting the hostel rools for silence after 10pm. The cost of food and especially the super high cost for drinks.

There is nothing that i didn't like.

One of the best hostels in udaipur. Definitely opt for this place. The view from the terrace cafe is so cool that you see the entire lake and sunset.

Its just the Lift door was making cranky noise , if thats fixed then nothing to tell about not liking about this property

At first after a fight with Cab driver i was upset as he tried to cheat but he was unsuccessful though :P So as soon as i reached , Punith the first person at the reception greeted and welcomed that changed my entire state of mind. The staff were really polite, understandable and well spoken. The location is really good. I would recommend this property to my frnds too and next time would stay again here Thnx to booking .com :)

Shalom Backpackers was a great choice as the room was spacious, clean and had warm water! It was my partners birthday and the staff helped to decorate the room to make it extra special! We were also backpacking at the time and the food in the hostel was extremely tasty and excellent value for money! Would definitely recommend. Also Mavi’s cafe across the road does great barista coffee!

It's not that I don't like but it's moreover it's a hostel so sitting peacefully in the rooftop at night for couples is not easy people show interest in playing loud music and killing your peace. But overall it was a very good stay would like to stay again...✌️

The rooftop here is amazing with a very good view around it was a hassle free checkin food is amazing as the staff was from my place uttrakhand so I know how tasty food the pahari staff make it ... It was a pleasant stay over all

The hot water is connected to solar panels, so it doesn't get hot-hot. At best it is close to lukewarm - so if you're not used to cold water, or you like hot water after a long day of exploring, I'll consider other options. The sheets were clean, but the pillows around the window seating weren't the cleanest ones and had patches on them. The window seating doesn't automatically come w the view. None of the rooms w window seating have a view, and have a wall to open to. As a traveler, I'm used to having electric kettle (for water heating) in my room, but since this was a hostel, there was none. However, I wasn't expecting this, so wasn't a problem for me. But if you're one for the midnight coffees and hot chocolates, this ain't it. They don't refill your water like hotels (and trust me, I've seen fair share of hostel travelers expecting hotel services), but give you bottles which you can refill from ground floor - so not actually something I disliked, but something that can be an inconvenience.

The location is amazing, and so were the interiors of the room I stayed at (superior double room). Most prime locations (gangaur ghat, city palace, jagdish temple) are within a distance of 500m, and all others (sajjangarh fort, fateh sagar lake and others) are within a radius of 5kms. That means if you are a good walker, you'll have everything at a walking distance. The room we stayed in was BIG and comfortable, had a window seating (posted here on my Instagram handle: prachithakurphd) and the staff was friendly, accommodating our late night cravings for the elaichi chai (cardamom tea). The sheets were clean and the towels were changed everyday (on request). Bathroom was HUGE, and sparkling clean with hand wash, body wash and soaps. They also restocked the TPs on request. The view from the cafe/terrace is SPECTACULAR w the pichola in front and if there is one thing you must get this stay for - take it for the view, and you won't regret it.
