We enjoyed our stay so much! The rooms were incredibly, super big and clean. The location was great - quite, but not far from great cafes and restaurants. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful, but the best thing about this place are the people! The family made us feel so welcome, had a many beautiful chats with us, took us to the market & so much more. We are so grateful that we got to spend time at this place!

Mukesh and family was lovely and very helpful. We were upgraded, the room was beautiful and the food just divine (their aloo baratha, sort of a potatoes pancake was delicious). Nothing negative to say!

It was very interesting experience to stay in this family house. Our host was very hospitable and helpful, room was clean and spacious, and interior is beautiful: very high ceilings, decorations, we felt as in a palace. Also there is a great terrace with a nice view. Everything was looking as in a picture. Host with his family lives in this building as well, they're very kind and polite people. But at the same time it's organized as a hotel with its facilities: quite simple check-in (they have even payment terminal), tasty breakfasts, additional services, etc. We're lucky to celebrate Holi here, hosts helped us with advices and shared some places where it happened. And we appreciate it a lot.

While a hair dryer and iron were available upon request - it would have been better if these were provided in the room.

This is a great little place to stay whether it is for work or leisure. The location is perfect - just a short walk from the centre. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated and most importantly that family and their staff were very nice. We were provided with a wonderful dinner and breakfast - none of our request were difficult for them to accommodate. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Shiv Kothi!

This was our first visit to India and to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Our Initial impression of Agra and the roads was one of madness and chaos however by comparison Shiv Kothi was total tranquility. Our host spoke excellent English and we felt in very safe hands. Our rooms were large and comfortable with a balcony, and most importantly, very quiet. Bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. We chose to have dinner at the homestay which was delicious and reasonably priced. Our booking included breakfast which was excellent.

We woke a few times in the night to dogs barking and some mosquito bites but otherwise nothing!

The most beautiful house we've stayed in. Elegant style, perfectly in tune with the architecture of the Taj Mahal and surroundings with plenty of tasteful decoration. Big spacius rooms and bathrooms, everything is spotless, hosts are a lovely family ready to help you with anything you need. Highly recommend staying here!

Some elements of the rooms and, particularly, the towels seemed a bit old or over used. The taxi services they offered were a bit pricey, tuktuks were ok.

The family were nice and welcoming. Breakfast was very good and our rooms comfortable enough.

During the day & evening there is a lot of noise from the street but it was generally quiet over night. Otherwise nothing to mention.

A lovely big spacious room and bathroom. Nice comfy bed. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel like we had escaped the busy town. In addition, the owner spoke excellent English. We enjoyed a delightful evening meal on our 2nd night. A welcome break indeed.

Shiv Kothi Homestay is a perfect blend of a comfortable boutique hotel and a homestay with warm family atmosphere. The hosts Mukesh and Richa are very kind and friendly and they let us check in early. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated and they match the pictures on Booking. There is also a library on the first floor with beautiful books about Agra and India. We enjoyed a very tasty breakfast (with excellent aloo paratha and poha). We highly recommend this wonderful little jewel in Agra!
