Lovely place run by a kindhearted family. Everyone was so nice and helpful at Shiva Lodge, we stayed there for a week. Position is perfect, just few minutes from Dashashwamedh ghat. The place is colorful and gives good homey vibes and the view on the rooftop is special. In the morning you can see from your window the line of people waiting to enter in the small temple nearby.

Location was excellent just behind Dashwamedha Ghat and nearby from Kashi Vishwanath Mandir. Amenities were good as well. Only thing is it's bang next to Varahi Devi temple which is open from 7.30 to 9.00 am and due to which people start gather around as early as 3.00 am onwards and block the lane, so we need to plan our day accordingly. Apart from this the care takers are just amazing people and will try to make your stay utmost comfortable.

It's an old city, and an old guest house, rooms are dated but clean, shared a bathroom on every floor, doorways will try to decapitate you so duck! The place is charming, a rocks throw from everything you want to see, and the location is amazing with a great rooftopview. Hostesses are the kindest nicest people.

I had an amazing time in Shiva Lodge. The location is perfect, literally next to the ghats and the main temples, yet in a mostly quiet alley. The room was basic but clean and comfy, hot water was available at all times during my stay (always a luxury in India) and the view from the rooftop was stunning. Last but not least, the family running the place is adorable and makes you feel right at home, far from the scrum outside

The wifi in my room was not always good because my room was on the third floor and when people use to listen to a movie or chat online then it become slow .

The location is excellent and the place is old but nice , the staff are really there to help you with everything. The rooftop is a big plus specially in the morning when you can see the sunrise and perfect for doing your QiGong.

The location is very good. Very close to the ghats which are the most beautiful part of Varanasi. The family that runs it is very loving. They will help you with anything you need. One of the best accommodations we stayed at in India. If we return to Varanasi, we would definitely go back.

The guesthouse Is really nice, clean room and toilet, perfect position near the ghat and the Ganga and mostly a friendly stuff that help us a lot with everything, giving us suggestion and help. The rooftop Is fantastic with an Amazing view of the Ganga. The only things Is the temple on the side that Is a bit noisy, but onestly for us was not a problem but if someone have a light sleep can be a bit loud.. Anyway every place in Varanasi is caotic and loud..:) I really reccomend this guest house, see you soon

It is not their fault but their is and old beautiful trmole connecting to shiva lodge and people are very noisy therr from around 5.30 in the morning so u will be most likely awake by 6am but it is alao the sunrise time beautiful to explore Varanasi

It is next door to Maa Varahi temple . So it might be difficult to enter the lodge during the morning time.

I like the way host treat their customer. Especially her dog was very friendly and playful. overall a very good experience and a must recommended stay either you are traveling with family or solo.

Room - small and serene. It made me feel the essence of how little we might need to be content. Facilities - common washrooms, all were clean and had everything u needed. Rooftop- perfect place to feel the warmth of the oldest city in the world. Owners/caretakers- enough stories for multiple cups of coffee/ tea. The building - when u have the foundation in a shaktipeeth temple, u can't ask for more.
