Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

IndiaThe property is very very old. All furnitures are very old, broken and dirty. They need to renovate the property to continue business. The towels and bedding sets are in miserable condition. I think booking.com should not list this property.
The staff at reception was very very helpful and friendly. That’s the only bonus point of this property. Also location is a bonus point.

United KingdomThe hotel was very bad condition to provide any stars. The reception and other common areas are not all any even satisfactory standards. Breakfast was included in the booking. But it was horrible to get breakfast. Night staff said after 7am they will serve the breakfast at the room. There is no breakfast area or any common dining area. 7.15am called for breakfast the answer was after 8am. After 8am Kitchen staff has not arrived. At 8.30 breakfast came but it was not even breakfast. Absolutely bad service and facilities. No kettle or coffee tea not provided in the room. Even a bottle of water. It was not worth at all. Really rubbish. Really unhappy with this hotel.
Location was ok for our purpose. The night staff was helpful.
