How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staying at the Taj Connemara was a delightful experience. The hotel beautifully combines vintage style with modern amenities, creating a charming and elegant ambiance. The food was exquisite, and everything was spotlessly clean. However, what truly set this stay apart was the exceptional staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, room service, and bar, every team member was welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. This was a centrally located heritage property from Taj. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had an amazing experience. The breakfast was superb. We were traveling with a kid. They went above and beyond to make sure he had a good time as well during our stay. They were even kind enough to mail us some items that we left back in the room during checkout.

The staff were all so lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay better. When we were at the pool staff without asking got us towels and bottles of water. At Breakfast when we asked if mango was available staff went out and bought some from the shop really quickly so that we could have some instead of saying no. The beds were so large and comfortable. Overall faultless

A great Hotel in the centre of Chennai and is an oasis of calm. Sometimes the service was a little slow especially around the Pool area. The breakfast was very good, with both local and western food available. Perhaps not the same quality as the Taj in New Delhi, but the bedrooms are massive and its very good value

Nothing. a small suggestion,while our tariff is inclusive of breakfast,we couldnt avail the break fast due to early going out.We may be allowed the break fast in any one of these days after the chk out based on our availability. Just a suggestion to not to miss the grand break fast!

The staff need to be commended. They were excellent! In particular: Vignesh at Reception, extremely helpful; Miller, Sushmita and Bhaskaran were very kind and made us feel very comfortable at Verandah.

Breakfast could have been better but it was not bad.
The property reflects the period in which was built and of traditional/classical setting. Breakfast was decent but it could have been better. The swimming pool was beautiful and a lovely view of the property and the surroundings. we loved the room size for a family of 3 and considerably bigger than most 5 star properties in the city.

I tried to make spa bookings but gave up after several unsuccessful attempts. We had only one encounter with front desk staff that was less than positive. Most were fantastic, but one seemed unwilling to help us.
Lovely staff in the Verandah restaurant and great options at breakfast and dinner. The pool was very nice. Our room was very comfortable. We were surprised by how kind and friendly everyone was with our young child.
