Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayO ly couple of small things. Looong walks in corridors, enhanced through incomplete guide on elevators/routes and not working room cards (probably demagnetized, which I did not know was still a thing), one/two restaurant being closed and not informed of before booking. Entire hotel has only 5(!) sunbeds on rooftop pool.
Clean, high standard, nice rooms, good food, nice pool, extra level of service

JerseyIt seemed usual in other hotels to provide water to residents using the pool area but there was nothing offered at either pool.
A perfect place to stay to visit the Taj Mahal. We booked a suite which was fabulous with access to a separate dining room with breakfast and happy hour food and drinks in the evening. The staff were so helpful and kind everywhere in the hotel. Gorgeous pool areas and a luxurious feel to everything. A 25 minute walk to the Taj Mahal meant we were back for breakfast after seeing it at dawn. Fabulous.

IndiaRoom in general was great and functional though the ambience and decor could be improved.
I was amazed by the hopitality provided by Staff at Taj Hotel & Convention Centre. They made our day special by decorating our room and providing complementary delicious cake. My daughter was delighted by ad-hoc treats and goddies from staff. Tea counter at reception/ arrival lounge is great for tea lovers like me.

United Arab EmiratesThe expensive roof top dining. The drinks were a silly price. Too many mosquitos too. Our room had a musty smell which they tried to sort. Seems there were issues with damp as they were renovating rooms close by. We were moved to a different room for the second night which was appreciated.
The friendly staff and the excellent breakfast service. The Manager who arranged us a visit to the Oberoi was very accommodating and efficient.

TurkeyThere are a few things I would like to point out to. -During breakfast and other meals, they serve water that is brought to you in bottles which are clearly tap water. It always tasted so heavy and different and the caps showed so much ware on them making it obvious they’ve been used a long time. I mean, come on. Why would you jeopardize your reputation for something so cheap? More importantly, if tap water in Agra is safe, just serve it with no fear. I also thought further than that and assumed they may be serving filtered water in those bottles. But it’s still unnecessary shady stuff. -Another issue, which derives from my wrong expectation of India, was the level of English. I came to India thinking everybody spoke fluent or decent English. It’s not true. At this hotel however, I still expected more fluent English speakers. It wasn’t a huge deal but it was a but frustrating during dining and breakfasts. But everyone was so patient and nice so it really wasn’t a huge deal, as I said before. -One more thing was the light switches. I mean, what’s wring with normal light switches that don’t confuse you every time you want to turn the light on or off? (Another unnecessary mistake, in my opinion) -there was an armchair in our room that was very dirty looking. It looked like it had been on the street for 2 years. -Another silly thing was the key cards. We had to change our key cards (for entering our rooms) 3 times in only 2 days. This has never happened to me at any other hotel. Not a big deal though because there’s always someone to open the door for you. -Right before we checked out, house keeping brought a model of Taj Mahal in …..WHITE CHOCOLATE !!!! What waste of money. It tasted like nothing and it was just too big. It just makes me really angry that the staff is working so hard and the managers are like “hmmmm, yeah, chocolate Taj”🤣🤦🏻♂️ -But the most annoying and unprofessional thing about this hotel is that some of the staff requesting a five star re
+Breakfast was amazing with a huge variety. So many healthy options. +They have free puppet shows, Taj Mahal story telling, and traditional music performance at the lobby. We really enjoyed all three of those performances. +Anytime you need something, there is someone there to help you. Room service was very helpful. +They have two swimming pools but sadly both of them are in open air and if you are unlucky like us, you can use any if there is a sand storm which is probably very rare. +Almost everything was as good as what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. So, I can highly recommend this hotel. I’m not really sure if there are any better hotels in town.
