Cons: Quality of restaurant (there is only one restaurant with quite steep prices and average food quality), generally everything is quite expensive at Barefoot (even for Havelock, so the "island argument" does not count here), tour desk (for booking diving trips, etc) is only staffed for one hour daily (6-7pm), staff not always knowledgable, you have to ask several people to get the correct information. Don't get me wrong: Barefoot is still a wonderfull place. For the amount of money you pay you would just expect a higher level of professionalism.

Pros: Remote location next to dream beach, offers you tranquility and peace.

Property has not been maintained in the name of sustainability. It’s unfortunate that Wooden cottage / Andaman villa has not been maintained well. Wood needs regular polish and up-keeping. Not worth the cost that they charge for these villas.

Location of the property and private access to Radhanagar beach.

    1. Forced to be barefoot 2. Very poor lighting everywhere- felt unsafe 3. Very rough paths to the cottages and the sea because of hard roots on the surface- can easily trip over so not pleasurable at all especially in the nights.

-superb location, access to the sea and view of starry nights is unparalleled -Clean, comfortable and tastefully done rooms - great staff - helpful and courteous -The nature guide Reuben was excellent both as a guide and as a human being

Prices are European not Indian. Be aware that taxes are added to a spa price - I didn’t notice information about it in the price list. Low value for the price. I liked Barefoot Scuba more for 2,5 times lower price

The location is perfect with the access to the nice beach. The bar area is great. Room was clean. Bathroom was comfortable.

We were “signed up” for the special outdoors evening Valentine buffet dinner and music event without any indication of this when we booked our stay. We were told about this by the hotel manager only when we and our six other friends went well past the event started to their restaurant for dinner. Had we known this, we would NOT have signed up for the event and paid the high price during booking. It should have been an option, and we didn’t like the surprise, nor paying for it. This is not acceptable!

Location, ambience, and in-nature/eco-friendly philosophy, including wifi access restricted only to the lobby. In a forest, close to the beautiful Radhanagar beach. Tasty food. Very friendly staff.

There needed to be some form of easy communication between the room and the Resort Reception. Like an intercom ;). Having to walk in the night through the forest every time you needed to ask for something from the front office was very inconvenient. Also, the rooms needed to be better lit.

The location of Barefoot was exceptional. Radhanagar Beach is a paradise on earth. The service was great. Timaya at the Front Office went out of his way to make sure we were all comfortable. The resort manager organised a lovely breakfast with birds for us in the forest. Food and drinks at Barefoot were great. Prathamesh, the naturalist @ Barefoot was excellent. We did an Intertidal Walk with him. We enjoyed that experience throughly.

No buffet breakfast. You need to order and wait for your turn. Also, very limited menus in restaurants and no room service.

Great rooms, beach is walking distance. The spa was great, and cocktails were smooth. Tents are really cozy.

The walks!! i was travelling with my mother and she has knee issues. walking was hard for her. If the distances were less or the surface of the path smooth things would have been easier. Food in general was okay, had expected better. Caramel custard was good. the rest of the food was a 7 out of 10. We had all meals there during our stay. The packed breakfast was packed well and the veg sandwich was very good. I had expected slices eggs in the egg sandwich, instead saw a soggy omllette in there. There should a phone for reaching the front desk because cell phone connection is spotty and it is very far from the tents etc.

Cleanliness, sheets were lovely !! The furniture in the front balcony was so clean. There was a clothes drying line and water to wash your feet at the entrance, all very thoughtful. Staff was polite, The beach was lovey. So many activities for you to choose from. We had a great experience with Scuba. Cocktails were great too. I do not get such good cocktails in Bangalore usually.

My one complaint would be the road leading in / going out from the property. We took a tuk tuk one evening to have a drink at a neighbouring hotel and it was the bumpiest, most uneven ride in a long time. Please have it more evened out - for safety reasons.

What didn't we like? Our stay at Barefoot was incredible - from the hut we stayed in to our meals and the stunning beach. We absolutely loved every minute.

Frequent power outages. Given the amount of sunlight they should consider installing solar power systems. Not sure given the remoteness of the island if there are vendors open to supporting such sales.

Breakfasts were very good, but lunches and dinners were expensive. Most vegetables have to be imported and are not fresh anywhere on the island, so just a generic comment in this regard, not restricted to Barefoot. Watch out for the massive mosquitoes after sundown! They come with the territory. :)

Superb overall. Location close to an amazing beach, the Snorkelling in Neil's Cove nearby (but watch out for Stingrays), the eco feel amongst the tall trees and the exceptional and genuinely kind staff. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
