How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Laundry service quality cd be improved a bit. Nothing else absolutely. Wonderful hotel to stay whilst visiting Bodh Gaya.
Staff, Location, Cleanliness, Breakfast, Room comfort. Aditya at reception was always there to help with a smile. High quality hospitality service by him. Ravi wait staff was also always there with a smile.

Shower and taps could work better with directed flows of water The locals living around the hotel may be taught about cleaning their surrounding areas?
The best and friendliest service I have ever experienced in India or elsewhere. Both the trainers and trainees went out of their way to be helpful with genuine smiles and hospitality. I think that the 5-star hotel staff in other hotels from India AND INDEED FROM ALL OTHER COUNTRIES have a lot to learn from this place. I do not doubt that the Swiss trainer volunteers, who visit this place annually, have more to learn from these wonderful, genuinely welcoming people than they can teach! Perhaps they could think of sending some of the Indian trainees to Switzerland too to show the Swiss hotel staff what being really welcoming is all about!

The hotel is in a quiet location, away from the centre of the town. While it is still walkable to Mahabodhi Temple, taking a tuktuk is preferable.
Clean room, excellent breakfast and dinner there and the staff and trainees were friendly and helpful, arranging trips for me.

Neighborhood was playing music very loud from evening till next morning, for 2 or 3 nights🤣 because of wedding. guess it’s part of India, no one to be blamed. Fighting with mosquitoes team, luckily next day Aditya gave me the repellent.
The whole team are amazingly friendly, responsive and super helpful, especially thank manger Aditya for all kinds of help to make my stay easy & comfortable. The room is clean, spacious, comfortable & with all essentials, bathroom is also clean with powerful hot shower, very resourceful after a dusty day. The food is tremendous yummy, well-prepared and satisfying, and dining area is just relaxing & lovely. All in all, a jewel and a home @ Bodhgaya, thank you all 🙏

The hotel was a bit far away and the menu at the restaurant did not have many different items.

The location is a little away from the main road. The town has not done a good job caring for the potholes and basic infrastructure. This is also part of the experience.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I want to especially thank Pawan, Dilchand, Ravi, Aditya, Anshuman and Mirnal. They all did an exceptional job and went out of their way to provide good feedback and advice for the town or anything you asked. The food was home-cooked and made especially for you every meal. It was all fresh, and the chef did an exceptional job making and presenting the food.

The staff and trainees at the Bodhgaya Hotel School were excellent. Pawan made every effort to help us make the most of our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I loved the proximity to the Great Buddha statue.

Very spacious and clean room; friendly staff. Phawan was particularly helpful to us, even before we arrived, arranging taxi from the station. Food was excellent, and transport for trips out could be arranged. Very happy to be able to participate in a valuable project like the Hotel School.
