How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is nothing not to like when you try other hostels in the area.
The property is larger than usual, the room we stayed in was quiet and comfy. The location is good, mixed crowd, Shiva Valley walking distance.

The stay was quite comfortable and they had an excellent common area with open bar where it was easier to connect to fellow travellers and chug some beer!

Location is good, very close to the beach. The hostel offers a good communal area where it's easy to meet up with people or simply get some work done. The private room I had was spacious, modern and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the place

The only thing I didn't like is the price. Maybe it was inflated because of the new year. Still quite overpriced.

The people were very nice and it was so close to Anjuna beach. Tvsa, if I spelled that correctly, was super great too and helped me out whenever I needed, she’s the best!

This is a gorgeous place to stay and one of my favourite hostels I’ve stayed in so far! I planned to stay for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4! The staff are amazing and whether you want to relax or have drinks at the bar there is something for everyone - a lovely family feel!

Serene and a good atmosphere. Staffs are very friendly and they even let us stay for few hours after our check-out since our train was at late night. Overall experience and stay was good. Will visit again if I get chance. 😊

Funky Monkey is undoubtedly one of the best place to stay at when you are in Anjuna. Hostel provides comfortable stay, very clean and beautiful atmosphere. They have their own in house bar were you'll get awesome cocktails and the best part is the restaurant where they serves the best food🤌🏼. Staff here is very professional and friendly. I'd like to mention Vijay and Deepak for making us feel like home. A must visit place when in Goa. I got so many new friends from the different parts of the world and the best person I met was BABAJI. Just sit with babaji and talk about anything it's very therapeutic. You will have the best time. Just go for it. I randomly selected this hostel for my stay and I'm never going to look for any other place now. I've found my second home in Goa🏡. Just go for it. This is my gaming account through which I made the booking but the review is 100% genuine.

Washroom were not so well maintained.. there is room for improvement..... Food is not reasonable... Overpriced..
It's spacious with big open area near to anjuna beach.. beds were wide and beautiful.. best beds..table tennis room is a plus.. nicely designed layout... Room rates also not bad....

bathroom of the private room was a bit outdated. there were some ants and bugs in them room.
the staff was amazing. felt like they were backpackers themselves. had an amazing stay thanks to them and my fellow travelers! room was big and good value for the money. food was also good and reasonable priced.

there was some disagreement on what constituted a daily rental of a scooter - I picked it up at 2pm but was told that the 24 hours started at 10am.
cool place, lots of interesting people, great location in South Anjuna. cold beer, good price. my room was excellent, very comfortable and clean.

Shower didn't work very well in the dorm, but there was a communal shower available too
