I cannot think of anything right away.

The location and ease of access. Popular eateries and destinations are at a walking distance and getting cabs or Uber is very easy. The hotel is old and well-maintained. Even though you're in a busy area, the rooms are quite sound proof and the noise from the road barely reaches the room. The staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. Overall, a very memorable stay in Colaba. :)

Many attractions are within walking distance. Additionally, I´ve booked also good guided tours by car to explore Mumbai. This is recommended..

Quite expensive but possibly this is because of the location. Despite this being our most expensive stay in India, we didn't see the quality translate across the stay when compared to other stays around India. Breakfast was underwhelming.

Clean, quiet, large room. Very comfortable large bed. Plenty of water and toiletries provided. Perfectly adequate stay just not luxury.

I think the wifi was not up to date, some time not working. I did not like that the door-man asked undertook security check even if he had met me before and knew I was a guest.

The location is superb. It’s a smaller hotel, but close to luxury for an affordable price. Surrounded by restaurants, markets, and very good shops.

The rooms are in bad need of repair and upgrade, especially in the bathroom: the shower head in our room was clogged, the drawer with the hairdryer was almost coming apart, and for some weird reason the toilet seat did not fit the commode, making it very uncomfortable. Similar disrepair in the bedroom also. Would love to stay here again but only if these fixes are done

It’s a very pretty hotel, in an excellent location: right on the Colaba causeway and near all the South Mumbai attractions. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. There’s a very good pub and a stir-fry restaurant in the property.

The email that came from Gordon House soon after I booked via Booking.com. Demanded a form to be completed and payment must be paid, otherwise rooms would not be confirmed. Caused major anxiety. It look several international calls. Ive booked Booking com Multiple times and never known of a hotel asking for a separate bank form + payment. .

We were not happy with our room for a number of reasons (although the size was ok) - the air conditioning vents were over one side of the room and blew an icy blast directly onto one bed (we had twin beds), and setting it to different temperatures or fan strength didn't seem to make much difference so we had to keep it off at night otherwise I froze during the night. This was ok in January when it was not too hot at night but at other times of year it would be hard. Although there were plenty of electrical sockets around, some didn't work at all, one began to 'fizz' and made my plug extremely hot while in use, and we ended up having to unplug a bedside lamp to use its socket which was inconvenient. There were no normal light switches in the room other than for the bathroom - you have to use a ridiculous and unresponsive 'control board' on the bedside table to control the bedside lights and the main lights (which were very bright), so in the middle of the night if you needed to turn on the lights you couldn't see what you were turning on. The bathroom was v tight and you had to squeeze between the sink and the door to get in. The safe was v old and a bit temperamental. We asked for a member of staff to come and sort out an issue with our safe on arrival and it took three requests for someone to come even though they were not busy, there seemed to be no sense of urgency in helping us sort out a problem. By the time we'd clocked all these problems we were settled and it's too much hassle to ask to move rooms but if I was to stay there again I'd ask to see other rooms first, especially if staying multiple nights as we were. I have no idea if other rooms were better, or indeed if there's anything better in the area for the same price.

Gordon House has a great location but we were a bit disappointed with this hotel otherwise, in particular our room (a 'boutique' room on the 3rd floor). The reception area was clean and appealing, and our room was clean and a decent size and we found it quite quiet in spite of being in such a busy area. The breakfast buffet was small and not v exciting, but the dosas cooked to order were good. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was good (delicious crispy mushroom starter recommended by waiter).

Unfortunately, the furniture is quite old and the price of the hotel was quite high.

Very good service. We ordered food and coffee to our room, it was always delivered fast. Clean room. We found the mattress very convenient for sleeping. Overall, good choice for Mumbai.
