Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful heritage hotel, with lovely pool and garden. The room had a gorgeous bed and marble bathroom. The staff were very attentive and dinner from the restaurant was delicious.

South AfricaWe unfortunately only stayed one night. Wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is an oasis in Agra. We also did not have breakfast at the hotel so can not comment on the restaurant as we had an early start to see the Taj Mahal and left Agra right afterwards.
This is one of the hotels where the reality of the hotel was better than the pictures. We stayed in the Chamber of Prince Rooms ant it was absolutely beautiful. This heritage hotel showcased the best of India! The hotel spoiled the ladies with Henna Tattoos and offered traditional dancing at the poolside as well as a puppet show! It was such a lovely surprise. First to feel like you are walking back in time through this beautiful property. The big rooms with the antique pieces of yesteryear and then the heritage aspect.

RussiaIt would be great to have a bit more choice at the breakfast.
Hotel is located in historical building built 150 years ago. But all facilities are new, rooms and territory are arranged with love and attention to details. There is nice garden, pool, candles everywhere. We've booked Chamber of Prince room. It's big, nice decorated, with comfy bed and has it's own exit to the pool. Staff arrange national dance show, puppets show and henna drawing in evenings. Main building is located in the garden, so you don't hear all these horns, which is a great relief in India. We had dinner in hotel restaurant and it was great, live national music during the dinner.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have more loungers by the pool but this is a very minor thing. Everything was lovely, despite my partner being convinced it was haunted.
I loved the history that the manager explained to us when we arrived. The tour was really nice and interesting to see the artefacts that the hotel preserves. The pool was nice and the room was massive. It was nice that the hotel put on dancers and henna and traditional music while you ate. The bed was nice and comfy and the sheets were crisp and clean.

United StatesThe cleaning in the rooms could use more attention to detail.
The grounds were charming. Food was good. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom recently updated. The hotel hosts nightly entertainment which was a real plus. The best part was the staff. They were all very polite and helpful - especially Shabiyah. My interactions with her and the beautiful artwork she did on my hand was as the highlight of my stay.

United KingdomThere was a slight issue with organising Taj Mahal tour in advance as it was a day the Yaj was closed. I thought it was quite expensive for drinks once service charge had been added.
Room was simply stunning, and along with grounds and pool, it was a welcome haven from the chaos outside.

United KingdomRoom on ground floor only had small opaque window so very gloomy. TV didn’t work but had no need so not reported. I think all a bit overpriced even for Agra. Immediate vicinity not the prettiest.
Nice old property, comfy bar, restaurant with santoor tabla duo entertaining at dinner, pool and garden to sit out pleasant and very well kept.

IndiaIf you are looking for a true historic hotel in Agra, vs. a faux-historic, this is the hotel for you. It's fairly simple - feel of an Old Word tourist hotel - and could probably use renovation (e.g. a nicer roof deck), but it's certainly solid as is.

NetherlandsIt is in the middle of the city, busy and noise. The swimming pool usually is busy with events The installations need some renovation
It is a hotel for events. We were there as guests for a beautiful wedding. The location is close to touristic attractions, but you need a transportation. Walking is not an option.

United StatesThe food was very spicy. The drinks at the bar for the New Year's Eve Gala were not good. The service, however, was very attentive.
The front desk staff were very helpful in getting us a car and driver to go from Agra to Jaipur on a day when our previous arrangement fell through on account of a large scale transport strike.

United KingdomIt didn’t look like the photos very much, a lot of it felt run down and unkept compared to other parts. Also breakfast was around £10 per person and the quality wasn’t amazing if I’m honest.
It had a really traditional vibe with North Indian themes. The staff were really helpful and friendly. It wasn’t too far away from landmarks and places to eat.

AustraliaLike most heritage hotels a few quirks with the building condition due to age. This is hard to avoid in buildings this old and didn't take away from the experience.
