How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Really nice worth the price accomodation, good quality price rate. Simple room but clean and accomodating staff. I recommend if you don't look for something fancy but something simple and nice in Bodhgaya.

Had some issues witht he hot water in the bathroom. Stayed for 5 nights. The mattresses were super hard. Rooms were never cleaned, There were not thrash bins in the room, so had to collect in a plastic bag.
Meals/Breakfast was good. Location perfect and close to the centre. The owner was friendly and helpful and the Staffs as well.

The only back draw: like so often in India the beds are almost as hard as concrete. For us not so young Europeans it’s difficult to sleep like that.
We had a deluxe room with the balcony in front of it, which was very pleasant. The room was quite fine and you can sit and meet people in the nice restaurant in front of the hotel. Staff and owner are lovely.

I intially thought the beds were going to be too hard and when I woke up in the middle of the night was very surprised to realise just how comfortable they actually were!
We initially had trouble completing our booking online and the hotel very kindly offered to let us complete the booking once we arrived. Further to this out travel plans were delayed and we asked the hotel once again if they could help us with our booking which they very graciously did. The location of the guest house is perfect for visiting the Mahabodhi temple on foot and just far enough of the road to be accessible, safe and quiet.The room we stayed in was large, clean with big windows and had AC.The water in the shower could have been a bit warmer but I am cold blooded and it probably wouldn't bother others. Wifi worked as it should.And all this for a very reasonable price. The owner was a real gentleman and we would not hesitate to stay again if we get another opportunity to re-visit. This was our second visit to Bodh Gaya.

Location is bit inside the main road.
Owner Mr Jyoti is very nice to talk to. He took care of everything and helped in room upgradation. Staff is prompt to help..food is very good and nicely prepared. Location is very close to Mahabodhi temple.

Even with a mosquito coil, mosquitoes can be intense. Non-balcony rooms can be a little bleak.
For the money, this place beats all the competition! Balcony rooms are spacious. Staff is so warm and friendly. Great vibe. Lively restaurant with clean food.

Shower has been a bit challenging. Beds comfort could be improved and cleaness level.
Owner was super nice and help us to deal with a super hassling tuk tuk driver. Staff was very attentive and help to solve some problems with the hot water and other small issues. We enjoied our stay. You get what you pay.

The rooms as projected & appear in Booking.com are not actually on ground. Though promised to be a big comfort, it is only a tight budget facility & rates too in that respect are higher. No cupboards in rooms. Plumbing is not good in toilets. No Lift for 3 floor building. One must Recheck the facility before booking.
The Owner Guptaji is nice & helpful person. He helped greatly when one of our tour member had medical issue. The staff were good accommodative & cooked as per specs
