A gem near Dharamshala. Lovely hidden spots. Splendid views. Clean and comfortable stay. Very welcoming staff and the locals are also very helpful. Place close to nature and one of the best experience to enjoy with nature and locals. 🤩🩵

The location is perfect for spending some good time in Kareri. Perfect location for stopover for Kareri Trek. The food served in the cafe is also very good.

It was advertised as one of the properties in Dharamshala, but it was at least 1 hour drive away from the bus station, costing 1500 INR each trip. It’s all the way in Kareri which is beautiful btw, and we’re still glad we got to stay here for a night. But the drive was a bit challenging for our taxi driver (who drove us all the way from Amritsar) due to poor roads at some bits. Just one more thing. We would’ve given a 10-star review, but we could not go to sleep past midnight as staff were playing loud music at the common area and were talking loudly and we could hear everything. They did turn down the music a little after my husband said something, but could still hear them (sound proofing maybe wasn’t the best here). If it were guests we would’ve been more understanding, but the fact that it was the staff with the loud music made us inclined to leave this review. But everything else was perfect and negatives can be easily remedied.

It’s such a cool place to stay, very clean and comfortable bed and pillows, spacious room, and really nice restaurant at the rooftop with great food with reasonable prices. Our favourite part of the stay was when Aryan, who’s basically in charge of the place (I think), took us for a free morning yoga session at this beautiful place in nature which involved a beautiful walk letting us taking in the beautiful scenery. It was our favourite part of our 3-day trip to Dharamshala and were very grateful for the experience. Aryan was super friendly and a great yoga instructor, especially for us yoga beginners!

Peaceful location with incredible views! The room was comfortable with a nice balcony. The place is spacious with different areas to chill, socialise or work. Food is very good and the staff excellent. Thank you for your hospitality!

Nothing to dislike .. an abosolutely perfect stay !!!

The location was awesome.. one of the best decisions I took for a solo travel. A serene atmosphere with neat and clean surroundings where one can find ultimate peace in the midst of nature. Add to that the facilities of The Hosteller Kareri was top notch and Ashok ji maintained everything beautifully. The food was awesome and delicious. All in all a wholesome experience.. woukd definitely recommend to visit and personally would love to visit again.

I visited this place around Dec 26. Rooms were really cold. They provide two blankets which keep you warm in bed but given other excellent things about this hostel, I would also provide a blower to keep room warm during winter

Outside of summer make sure you have lots of layers or a big jacket for evening and early morning. Common area / restaurant is same temperature as outside which was pretty cold at night in November.

Comfortable accommodation in a very rural and beautiful farming/shepherd village. Rooms clean and comfortable most/all with sunny balconies. Comfortable common areas with beautiful views of the snowy mountains and daily village life. Restaurant serving unexpectedly fantastic Indian food and hot drinks all day. Perfect area for hiking, walking, soaking in nature and quiet, learning about village mountain life and relaxing. Very little else to do but pure bliss if this is what you want. Short walk to a beautiful river with deep pools to swim in. Lovely short or long walks in every direction. Staff who can give advise on activities/hikes or call others to help you if needed.

The place was cleaner than I expected. Beautiful place. Must visit. A little far from the city though and roads were also not that great, but the property was amazing & even the food was great.

Incredible location with an unparalleled mountain view. Hanging out on the hostel’s rooftop terrace is pure joy. Everything is clean and tidy, the staff is warm, welcoming, and helpful with anything you need. The kitchen offers a great variety of delicious meals for great prices. One of the highlights of my trip to India so far, hard place to leave.

We really loved our stay there. The area is very calm and surrounded by beautiful landscape. Rooms are basic but the price is very fair. Terrace is amazing and restaurant has great food and fair prices. Perfect place to go and relax and perhaps hike a little bit.
