Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomCompared to location and value, I would say it is over aged room interior. Suggest a refurbishment. Despite the room was non smoking you could feel that in the past was a smoking room. It is advertised as AC but in reality is a fun cooled room.

IndiaOld hotel in much need of maintenance. They are still coasting on the brand recall from a decade ago and proximity to MNCs. The areas near the lift at reception and the corridors (6th floor) have a bad odour. Towels are old and hard The bathroom needs an upgrade. The bathroom floor outside the tub gets wet while using the shower ( shower with bath tub concept). The plumbing is old. The shower water doesn't rinse soap off well. the toiletries provided is not great.

Indiaif we book via Booking.com customers do not get complimentary breakfast, which I think is absolute nonsense, as the customer is paying the whole amount which any other customer who books directly would have paid. it is absolutely essential that complimentary breakfast is provided to all customers as the rates to the customer are the same and it is more convenient to the customers. I would not book via booking .com in future if this is the case.
