Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe struggled to get our room to feel cool.
Relaxing environment right in the city centre but didn't feel like you were. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were so friendly and helpful, we felt at home. The pool area is beautiful and we loved relaxing there in between exploring Udaipur. We would absolutely recommend this hotel and hope we can return one day.

United StatesI enjoyed my time at Neem Tree. The space is amazing, and everyone was very helpful. Great food too! Neem Tree also offers morning yoga and can help to arrange a cooking class, palm/horoscope reading, massage, an escape to the countryside for a wonderful morning hike (highly recommend this) and transport. As soon as you enter the Hotel, there is a sense of calmness and relaxation. Highly recommend!

United KingdomNothing, would highly recommend!
There was so much to love about staying here. The property itself has been beautifully renovated in keeping with the typical architecture of Udaipur. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, we particularly loved the enclosed balcony with its colourful glass panels where we could sit peacefully. Everything was exceptionally clean, staff were quietly attentive, and the roof top terrace was superb. It was a perfect place to sit with a pre dinner drink, with fantastic views to the city palace which is a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of food and drink, including delicious home made cakes! Thank you to Helena and your staff for an exceptional stay, it was lovely to meet you.

United KingdomA Tranquil heaven amongst the hustle and bustle of India - Helena was wonderful and what works really well in this stay is the amazing service and location. Mattresses are really comfy and the Indian Head Massage is a must. There was a shop at the bottom of the hill that tailored trousers and sold wonderful textiles too. Helena and Mr. Singh would always help with booking rickshaws, taxis and reservations. The roof top is a great place for a peaceful beer and wonderful view if the City Palace. Breakfast with proper coffee was wonderful. Highly recommended staying here for feeling safe and secure!

The Neem Tree is a blissful oasis in the centre of Udaipur. The property is comfortable and beautiful, everything has been thought of to ensure a comfortable stay. Helena and the staff were very friendly and helpful, always available to offer advice and help arrange activities/excursions. We loved making us of the on-site yoga and massage. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Although located right in the centre of Udaipur, the hotel is quiet and peaceful - we wished we could have spent more time there!

LithuaniaThe only surprise was that Uber can take only ~5 min of walk from hotel, so it’s a bit harder with luggage. Though a lot of Tuktuks around, so not so much of a need for Uber.
Very nice breakfast, all interesting places are close by, as well as the restaurants. They offer bunch of services if interested (Joga, massage, etc). Staff is very helpful, main staff people talk English well. Helped with transport (we did not have mobile internet, so it was very useful). Also a very nice roof for enjoying the city view around.

GermanyFrom the rooms in the main building you can hear what’s going on in the house (although it was very quiet and guests are asked not to disturb others between 9 pm and 8 am), but maybe some door padding for noise protection would be an option. Featuring the roof top terrace more would be great
Very comfortable and quiet accommodation - a place to relax just a very short walk away from stressful Udaipur old city. You can feel and see the love and attention to detail with which it has been created. Up to standard for Western travellers. Palace view from the roof top. Very comfy bed, very clean and well looked after. Big Thanks to Helena and the staff for making our short stay so nice!

United KingdomEverything was immaculate and there is nothing to criticise.
This is a gem of a property in the centre of Udaipore in which Helena has created a truly lovely experience for her guests which begins from the moment you walk through the door. There is a lovely courtyard with a swimming pool where breakfast is taken each morning and where drinks can be enjoyed throughout the day. Breakfasts are fresh, healthy and wholesome and we can honestly say these were the best poached eggs we’ve ever had at an hotel. The rooms are spacious with a lovely shower room and tea, coffee and toiletries are provided and replenished daily. All staff are courteous and friendly and cannot do enough to help. This is a property which we would recommend unreservedly.

United KingdomI wouldn’t change a thing the Neem Tree was perfect the way it is.
The Neem Tree is an oasis of peace and tranquility in the centre of the old city. It’s quite amazing how quiet and peaceful it is, considering you are only metres from the busy streets of the old city. The room was large clean and had a great shower too. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Breakfast was a choice of eggs cooked how you like, toast and a selection of fruit and other items that are enough to be up for the day.

Canadanothing!
This lovely hotel is a peaceful retreat in the heart of old Udaipur. There are many remarkable features of the Neem Tree: the spacious rooms, the delicious breakfast, the relaxing swimming pool; but what our family appreciated the most was the helpful advice. From restaurant recommendations, to a tailor to fix a ripped knapsack, the team at The Neem Tree was excellent. If you ask them to help arrange transportation, getting to their hotel in the old city is easy. We stayed four days at The Neem Tree but wish we could have stayed much longer. An exceptional experience!

United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing we did not like.
The Neem Tree is a beautifully reconstructed building around a calm, quiet courtyard within easy walking distance to all the sights of the busy city. It has a rooftop yoga studio and massage is available on request. The pool is wonderful after a day in Udaipur. Helena and her staff are there to provide everything a guest could want.
