Location, service, and comfort. Location-very near to Taj mahal. Service- The hosts go above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable. We had fallen sick and they treid to make our stay ocmfortable. Comfort-Rooms very pretty comfortable with smartTV, good size bed and comfortable mattress. This is somewhere between a homestay and a hotel. THe best part was the sunlight and greenery of the garden from the window. Was very soothing for us.

Dining options are available but limited. We had a short stay so we weren’t able to take advantage of that. (I guess we missed out. . . other reviews say the home-cooked meals were excellent.)

Charming, family-run hotel within walking distance of the Taj Mahal. Rooms were large with nice bathroom with shower. Vikrant made us feel most welcome. He was forthcoming with Taj info as well as dining recommendations.

The owner and his family were very helpful and we felt very well treated through our whole stay in The Orchid Retreat. We received many advices and the owner helped us to get to the airport in a very quick and safe way! :)

Great place to stay in Agra. Comfortable accommodation, in a quiet area, close to the eastern gate of the Taj Mahal. Delicious food prepared on site to order. Staff nice and very friendly. The host Vikrant, gave valuable advice during the stay and helped plan the entire trip to Agra and beyond. Thank you Vikrant for all your help and care, far from home we felt very safe and comfortable. We highly recommend staying at Orchid Retreat.

The neighbourhood has many mosquitoes. Be ready to fight them.

Best place we have stayed in almost 3 weeks in India. The owner and all the staff are very kind and helpful. The very moment you arrive he sends many tips about do’s and don’ts around Agra. They really make you feel comfortable at the place. The room is very clean. Much above the Indian standards we have seen. The location is just perfect, 5 - 10 minutes to the shuttle service pick up point that takes you to the Easter Gate of the Taj Mahal. Many restaurant options nearby. The food is home-made, and they have many different vegetarian options. Very reasonable prices. Shout out as well to Ranu, our day driver to visit Fatehpur Sikri. He was also very kind and attentive. He waited with us for half an hour during the night while we waited for our night bus in the middle of nowhere.

The hotel is a big dated and will need renovation soon. The aircon was little noisy. There is no restaurant but there were tables in the communal area on each floor used for eating at. The food was ok but one of our dishes arrived cold.

We stayed for one night ready to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise. I would describe it as a small family run hotel rather than a homestay. The man at reception when we arrived was one of the nicest people we met on our whole holiday. We had everything organised but I'm sure it would be worth booking the hotel and getting the them to organise sightseeing. The location is fantastic, walking distance from the Taj Mahal.

Property was almost perfect but Agra the town lets you down. I killed about 10 mosquitoes in the room even with screens on the windows. The air is extremely polluted.

This isn’t anything more than a suggestion, a small fridge in the room would have been appreciated so we could have chilled water. Or a fridge in the hallway where breakfast is served.

The friendly reception we received upon arrival. Room was very spacious and a big clean comfort bed. A choice of AC or ceiling fan. In a really nice quiet area within walking distance to the Taj Mahal pick up car park. This family run business was just what we wanted and all of them are so friendly.

This is a very nice family-run guest house a few steps away from the departure of the golf carts that bring tourists to the Taj Mahal. Our room was very clean and the dinner home cooked and delicious.

The host Vikrant is the most handsome man in Agra, you can't miss him if you plan to stay in Agra for couple nights. The hotel is very near to Taj Mahal, you can walk from the hotel to Taj Mahal very easily.

As a Female solo Traveler I can say that I feel blessed to have found The Orchid Retreat! Vikrant and his lovely family hosted me as a member family, they made sure I felt comfortable, happy and the most important safe! Vikrant took me to see the sunset at Taj Mahal and organized an excellent guide for sunrise at Taj Vikrant helped me to organize my taxi from Agra to Airport in Delhi and the service was very punctual! The hotel is impeccable clean and comfortable ! Bed is amazing and room has AC Location is very convenient just few meters away from the main entrance to the Taj Mahal on a very quiet street. Food is excellent, tasty and they make sure the level of spicy is good. I don’t hace words to describe how good was my stay at the Orchid Retreat. I strongly recommend it

They could maybe offer an alternative breakfast for people visiting Taj Mahal early in the morning (they open at 6 am, breakfast starts after 8 am).

Good location, close to Taj Mahal (within walking distance, like 10-15 min). The staff was very friendly and helped out on a lot of questions, also gave a lot of information before arrival. Clean and comfortable room.
