We chose the Wind Cross as we had an early train from Kalka station which is only 2km away. The hotel was clean with comfortable bed and good shower and excellent food available as takeaway from the nearby Krishna cafe. Staff very welcoming. Ideal hotel for people getting the train to shimla and reasonably priced

Nice modern clean comfortable. Got checked in fine at midnight. The guys gave me great advice that I should go early to buy ticket for shimla toy train, same day luckily I did and got going.

Bathroom was clean but there was a bit of a whiff - maybe came from outside and likely not the hotel's fault, don't let it put you off. We didn't use the shower because it was a brief stay.

Good location for the station, 5 minutes in a tuk tuk. Very kind and sweet hosts - made us a cup of chai and some toast and jam in the morning. Super sweet. Room was comfortable and fulfilled our basic purpose of an overnight stay before catching the train to Shimla. If you're doing what we did, and getting the toy train the next day, this hotel is fine for you!

Great value, close to the train station for taking the Toy Train to Shimla. Hotel is clean, comfortable and great value with decent restaurants nearby. Staff arranged early morning taxi and provided helpful restaurant recommendations

The room was dark - if the furniture were to be painted cream or another light colour it would be much more welcoming. and make the room feel more spacious

This was a cheap overnight option before catching the Himalayan Queen toy train to Shimla. The room, bedding and bathroom were clean. Bottled water was provided and the hotel was willing to order in takeaway food for us. They had a little dining room in which you could eat. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a nice little restaurant (Pedal and Pour) a short distance away (c. 200m) on the other side of the road and we had a decent evening meal of Chicken fried rice there. There was a little supermarket next door to the restaurant where we bought some food items for the following day's trip.

Room was freezing as well as the bed. We asked for a heater and kettle which were provided as complementary. Bathroom basic. Toilet needed good clean on the outside.

Friendly staff. Located not far from Kalka train station. Arrived very late . Good communication. Room basic , sheets were clean as well as towels. Good price for what you get . Thanks for your welcome .

Tea was brought to the room and the staff were very helpful. We were here only a night as a break from train journeys. The hotel is a little away from the central hub bub of Kalka but nothing walking or a rickshaw won’t resolve…

The hot water geysers were not turned on and we did not know that, we just assumed that the hot water was non-existent until later that night.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and made our overnight stay very comfortable. We needed a place for 1 night as we were catching the 7:00am train to Shimla and this hotel is very close to the train station - about 5 minutes by car.

Had one night here. Nice very helpful English speaking manager + friendly staff. 40 Rups to Kalka rail stn. Reservation office at Kalka rail stn opened at 10am, we joined 17 on waiting list for 7am next morning 52459 glass roof toy train, bought 2 tickets £6 pp, and told to wait till 8:30pm same day to confirm by text to our Airtel Indian sim number and told there was good chance of tickets. If no tickets then full refund. At 8:30pm text came, we had tickets. There were 7 carriages. Sit right side for best views or look out of door like i did most of journey for great view + feel. Fantastic train journey. Highly recommend.

The shower head could of been better as the hot and good water did not mix well. The hotel was quite noisy in rge evening and there was train noise but this settled down later in the night.

The guy on reception was extremely helpful and organised a driver for our day in Chandigah. The room was clean, bed conformable and WiFi worked OK.
