Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaFood menu is very limited . Apart from that they dont add the food bill in the room . So every time you have to carry money for payment. This is not expected from a property of this high tariff.
View from the terrace restaurant is superb. You get to view the Taj lake Palace, Trident & Jag Mandir Palace Hotel & the nice Pichola lake. Its very calm & serene . You can forget all your worries by visualizing the view.

FranceThe deck chairs at the rooftop are black! In the sun they get burning hot. Swimming pool water is full of chlorine (too much...) The pool is a little disappointing and could be easily improved.
Great location. Wonderful view from the rooftop. Helpful staff. The rooms are well decorated and have a good shower.

NetherlandsThe room was really simple and the bathroom could use an upgrade, it’s only the basics! Furthermore, the staff of the restaurant is not always the most attentive.
The hotel is amazingly situated! Amazing rooftop terrace and view on Udaipur and the lake. Perfect to chill and watch the sunset. Staff at the reception was super nice and even let us call our airline company with their own phone! Plus for the pancakes for breakfast!

United KingdomThe mattress was very uncomfortable on the first night but this was changed for us as soon as we reported the issue It is quite a noisy building as it is open plan but in a ground floor room we did not hear any noise from the restaurant.
Perfect location with a stunning view of the lake from the roof terrace. Rooms were spacious and with real character. The owner was friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was very good and value for money considering the setting and view.

IndiaThe rooms are not with a view as there are no windows but small jharoka which is a part of the interior design of the room.
The hotel had the heritage aesthetic. Makes you feel that you indeed are in Rajasthan and the local lanes, market, enhances that feeling. The breakfast restaurant has a nice and pleasing view of Lake Pichola and is quiet a relaxing place. Staff have been good and courteous.

United KingdomThe bed linen and towels were not as clean as they could be and the pillows were way too hard to use! There was a terrible smell in the bathroom.
The hotel is located in THE BEST location in Udaipur on the lake, near the City Palace. The view from the restaurant and pool are incredible. The hotel is quirky and rooms attractive and the staff are very attentive. It was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed at but also one of the cleanest. Great food in the restuarant. The pool had decent pool loungers with mattresses and towels. Pretty amazing for Northern India!

AustraliaNo cars can come in the narrow by lanes, so you will be dropped off some distance away, resulting in additional cost for a tuk tuk. The hot water is available at specific timings and has to be requested for other times. The towels weren't that clean, and the shower made the whole bathroom wet and dirty. I would recommend it to my friends, despite a small hiccup that the wrong car was sent for our airport drop-off when we had particularly ordered a specific make due to the size requirements and had paid as such.
Although the location is quite central, the entrance is about 50mtrs in a narrow alleyway from where your tuk tuk/auto rickshaw can drop you. The staff were very friendly and were prepared for our visit. The food was excellent, and so was the view from their terrace, restaurant, and bar. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
