Shower not that clean. Location ok but nothing to do around really.

Amazing staff super welcoming and helpful. They are good vibe and make you feel home. The owner likes to be part of the hostel's life. Sharing his time with us on the beautiful and comfy roof top. Where we all join and connect to each other in this cosy environnement roof top. Well made to discuss together.

5/5 Stars Booked for 3 nights but ended up staying 2 weeks. The mixed dorm is big and airy and gets lots of sunlight (knowing that you're not returning to a box always helps); the beds are large and comfortable, and the washroom always clean. Apart from creature comforts, the hosts are amazing people - thoughtful, kind, and super inclusive - very important IMO for long-term solo stays. I worked every day (good wifi, enough quiet corners), surfed every morning (Serenity Beach is close by), and explored Pondicherry and Auroville - all the while knowing that I'm returning to a great community at Unpack. Highly recommend.

Amazing hostel with three of the best hosts i have ever met at any of the hostels i have lived in before. Ronak, Kavya and Mahek made the whole experience enjoyable. Very good location as its close to Pondi city as well as Auroville. Proper bike parking available. Common area is the best part of the hostel. Rooftop area is very comfortable. Keeps the whole vibe lively and fun and also a good place to rest during the afternoon heat. Night game sessions were also really fun. Overall a very good place and must stay hostel in pondicherry!

Bathroom is a bit of a scrum, as it is a 14-bed dorm with one shower and one toilet! (There is a toilet on the first floor tho). There is a bath too, but also could be used as another toilet or shower, but didn’t effect our stay in the slightest, but considering they have just opened and it is a period property, they can’t help that too much. (All bits of the bathroom are treated as different rooms, they’re all sectioned off, so you can still use the toilet if someone is showering etc etc, which was a great choice!)

We love you unpack hostel!!!!! The staff here are increíble! The most comforting hostel experience ever. They make you feel at home, and considering they have just opened, they’re doing an amazing job (as their review show!). Dorms are ACd and comfy with a light, fan and plug socket for each bed, as well as huge storage lockers under the bed, and extra built in wardrobes for more! The roof top was a highlight! We met such amazing people up there, organised day trips, exchanged tips and tricks for travelling India. Spoke about different cultures, so insightful. It has a mini fridge, and there will always be a little party up there on a weekend. Played many games with new people, shout out to the amazing game of Mafia, after we missed our bus, it really helped lighten our mood!! They took us to karaoke, and the addition of Mehak is doing wonders to help with the workload! Bean bags are so comfortable and are actually great for helping socialising. The building is stunning, with many spaces to chill. As well as the roof top, there is a lounge section with bean bags, if you don’t fancy socialising! (We took a big nap there… was great). Much space for bikes, water filter in the kitchen. The WiFi is also great and fast and people worked from there too. They found out it was my boyfriends bday during our stay, so on our last night, they made us chai, and a birthday brownie with a candle. So cute and homely! The handprint wall is such a cute touch too!! They treat every guest like family. We missed our bus and called Mehak when it happened at like 10:30pm, and they got us a new bed straight away and welcomed us in, and organised a tuk tuk the next day to help us get the next bus!! With every person we meet that tells us they will be gong to Pondy, we recommend unpack so much! Hopefully you have a Yatzy by now and our legacy lives on :)) Cannot thank you guys enough, and cannot wait to come back. Good luck for the future!!!!

This hostel is really comfortable, clean and well run. The common areas are well maintained and well structured, especially the terrace which becomes a place where you can meet lots of interesting people and never feel lonely! :) The owners are very welcoming and are very passionate and courageous people

The staff is fantastic and so helpful for anything needed! Shared spaces and rooftop are great. I would definitely recommend this hostel!! Location is between downtown and the surf beach with plenty of street food and restaurant options nearby.

After traveling in India for 2 month IT was the best stay i bin so Far. The Hostel ist very Clean and have Europe Standards, the two Persons WHO running IT are great people wo helped me with every Problem. ITS a nice place to connect with new people.

Some guests were a little clueless, talking and turning on the room lights many times during the night. Perhaps as a suggestion, having a rule of conduct and good manners would be nice.

Nice place, comfortable and well planned. The people are nice and friendly. The rooms are spacious and beds are super comfortable. The manager Kavya is very nice and friendly, always prompt and helpful. I had an incredible time there. I will definitely be back again when I'm in India.
