I loved the beauty and peace of the hotel and gardens. Each room was filled with interesting items displayed on furniture and fittings of the period.. The staff were attentive and gracious. Meals were beautifully presented and delicious.

Ranjit's Svaasa is a delightful oasis of calm tucked away from a busy road in the more modern area of Amritsar. The main building takes you back in time to an era of privilege, but the bedroom was spacious and stylishly decorated with all 'mod cons'. The character of the hotel was complimented by charming gardens which wove around the Marigold Hotel-esque courtyards and made you feel cut off from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The staff were excellent, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival, you immediately felt welcomed as if into a family home. The separate dining room served the best breakfasts and evening meals to order were very good. A lot of the fresh ingredients are grown in the hotel allotment. The chef took time out of his busy day to give us a cookery lesson, instructing us (through the translation of the lovely hotel manageress) how to cook a selection of local traditional dishes which we then ate for dinner. The manageress also booked us a wonderful guide (Sonny) and driver to show us the sights of Amritsar and the Wagah Border Ceremony (not to be missed for entertainment value!) The hotel is a 10 minute tuk tuk ride from the old town and the spectacular Golden Temple, worth seeing both by day and night. Make sure not to miss the amazing 24/7 Community Kitchen too.

Everything about Ranjit's Svaasa was lovely. Beautifully furnished, ambient music, cute dog, amazing food and wonderful staff. Lots of tranquil and private indoor and outdoor spaces. Located far from the city noise, it is an elegant oasis of calmness, just a short drive to the Golden Temple. The staff organised our transport which was of a high standard. Highly recommend, and look forward to one day returning.

It was all good.

Lovely ambience - very calm. It’s an unusual but very pleasant place to stay. Not too far from the centre of Amritsar so visiting Temple, Museums etc was easy. Staff were excellent.

The only reservation is the time of year (winter/Dec/Jan) . The property would be amazing anytime with its terraces and gardens, a true oasis in a bustling city but in winter, the lack of central heating and drafts from an older property are challenging to those of us used to creature comforts.

The property is quirky with lots of character. The staff were exceptional going out of their way to help in every way. The food is great breakfast and dinner. The owner is delightful and very present.

I had two meals at the hotel and it was absolutely incredible food and friendly, helpful service :) The decor of the hotel is beautiful especially in and around the reception, hallway and dining areas. I have to especially thank the front desk reception staff who helped me check out late at night before a very early flight, assisted with a wake-up call and helped even more when I accidentally dropped my passport on the ground at the airport when leaving (!) - the driver very kindly called the front desk to go back and check in my room in case it was there! Profuse thanks to the whole team for your kindness.

Problem with internet in the bedroom

Wonderful small hotel in a very quiet area. Staff is very friendly, rooms are big with balconies and very clean. Breakfast and dinner are great. I can only recommend this place for visiting Amritsar!

This is a truly lovely hotel in Amritsar. It is quiet and calm and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. The authentic furniture and photos inside the hotel are fascinating to look at and the garden area is a peaceful place to sit. I highly recommend this to any one visiting Amritsar.

The location was great, located down a side road away from the traffic noise. A very nice Indian heritage feel to the place,away from the hustle and bustle of the city. All of the staff were very curteous and welcoming and very helpful.

One word - oasis. With so much happening in the city, the traffic noise, overcrowded tourism, hustle- bustle of livelihoods… ranjit’s svaasa is your safe haven. Tranquility of this place just wins over you. Staff makes you feel comfortable and at home. The in-house food is also mind blowing.

Originally a guest house of a high ranking official it is now a beautifully renovated and modernized Boutique hotel with traditional charme, antique furniture and modern paintings. The very nice garden makes it an oasis in a big city. Welcome and Service were extrodinary, Food perfect. Special thanks to Jugra.

Can't think of anything

Everything was awesome. From the moment we arrived at the property,until we left..we experienced such warmth and hospitality.Every staff member was courteous and pleasant..they are very helpful. The food was awesome This interior decor is so tastefully done, that we find uniqueness and royalty in every piece. The size of room is quite good. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a heritage stay ,right in middle of city yet so calm and peaceful.
