How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Excellent stay at White pearl residency. Great staff, good food and clean room with all amenities. Located in a calm place and the beach is just a walk away. Had a great time during our stay and explored pondicherry. Warm and welcoming staff overall especially Mr.Praveen who helped us avail taxis and autos from the hotel itself. 10/10 would recommend this place.

It is some more distance from bus stand. And auto drivers are demanding more money.

Small issue w/ a sliding door that was attended to promptly and efficiently.
Everything. Staff are very professional. Easy check in/out. Breakfast are really good . They tailor my stay to my needs even helping me with t.v channels . I love the balcony and all the views from various windows . Exceeded expectations when they brought complimentary coffee one day, delicious pizza another and a cold bottle of water for the road when I left. Refrigerator in room and excellent working a/c are definitely appreciated. Good hygiene. Above all, I feel safe

The rooms were more expensive than I would have expected.
Rooms were very spacious and had balconies. Decent location and car parking available. Breakfast was a decent spread, nothing too fancy.

It can be difficult to get an Uber to and from the place because of Ubers price policy in Pundy and the distance to the city center. However, the reception was very helpful in arranging transport for us!
Clean, nice place to stay. Tasty indian breakfast with idli, chutneys, sambal, but also cornflakes and toast. The location is a bit far from Pundy center but less costly. A nice beach is close by. Friendly and helpful staff and reception. Thank you!

As we occupied a suiting room, it would've been better to accommodate customers with tissues and sanitizer from a health perspective.
Breakfast was decent and provided with a combination of south and north varieties. It's located on the ECR road very near to Auroville beach. But it's a bit away from the city center and that shouldn't be a problem if anyone has a four wheeler

The bedsheet we could see some stains which could have been checked. The main lift was pretty small in size and my child seem to be worried to use it. We used the another life which was on the back which went directly to the parking at ground floor. The location is bit far from the city but it should have been a issue when you have private vehicle.
We checked in and got an upgraded room with balcony which was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and the staff was helpful and very nice. The breakfast had limited options but was good. They have fixed timings for good but had a full day woodfire pizza available. The taste was simply awesome. They checked on cleaning the room on regular basis and the overall stay was great!

Manager was very accommodating and provided us a good room on the top floor next to the dining area after we complained about the horrible experience we had in a hotel in Mahabalipuram. We were able to leave our luggage near the desk before check in. The room was spacious, clean, good lighting. Had a balcony. Bathroom was clean, good water pressure, hot water. Breakfast had a variety of dishes available. Of note, the beach is not walkable distance from this location. Per the front desk staff, can get to the beach in 600m if you walk through the slums which he did not recommend.

Lunch timing start was very late at 1:30pm and dinner time closure was very early by 10pm. Else rest everything was good
Close to Auroville Beach. In house pizzas were amazing. Rooms are spacious.

The bathroom flooded a bit from the shower which made the floor slippy
