We felt it was a bit odd to pay before we had seen the room, but this does seem to be their policy. Breakfast didn’t really appeal to us but there are lots of other great places to eat in the city.

Not the most glamorous of places, but we were pleasantly surprised with our stay here! The staff were very hospitable and friendly and the location is great. Would definitely recommend for a cheap and cheerful stay in Mumbai.

If you are looking for a decent cheap option, this place is great. If you value good comfort and attentive staff, you might want to spend some more. Why? - extrenely byrocratic check-in (including pictures) - super hard and small beds - our rooms door to the balcony did not seal properly, so animals might come in (we put a blanket to seal it) - extremely bad breakfast, we skipped it on day two ;)

Maybe on arrival, the reception could offer advice and things to do and see in Mumbai e.g. different tours they would recommend.

Great location for exploring Colaba and excellent staff (prompt, friendly and welcoming). Breakfast and dinner included was amazing as we enjoyed the food cooked and it helped us save some money too. Room facilities were good and the air conditioning was welcome.

Liked the fact that the Y is located in a picturesque location in Colaba- easy access to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Entrance a bit grubby, but the reception and rooms were welcoming. Affordability being the key. Pluses breakfast (buffet-choice if western & Indian), and dinner. Staff are very polite and very helpful.

The location is fantastic. The room and amenities were all simple but ok, like described. The elevator is a bit old-fashioned, but ran smoothly whilst I was here. All the staff are also very friendly and helpful. Rooms and everything was also clean. I guess for Mumbai and especially this location and including breakfast and dinner the price is very justified, but not really comparable to the standard you would get in most of India. The breakfast was ok, but nothing special. I always skipped dinner here because there are so many other intriguing possibilities close by.

For the price we paid, we cannot complain. If I could change anything, it would be to have the lift fixed as the stairs are probably not convenient for older people. The wifi sometimes dropped out for a while.

The staff are very nice, the place is really clean and the location near the Gateway of India, Taj Palace Hotel, bus and ferry tours and Churchgate station is very conveniently in walking distance. The included breakfast and dinner is a big bonus and the food was ample. It is great value for money. If we ever visit Mumbai again, we will certainly be back.

My partner thought the hot water didn’t last very long but I thought it was ok

Location couldn’t be beaten. Staff extremely friendly professional and helpful. Dinner provided every night was spectacular and breakfast not bad either. Room was basic but clean. Highly recommend

The dining room felt a bit sterile/soulless, very white and no music or anything in the background which made it an eerily quiet & awkward place to have dinner (the food was amazing so it was a shame as it ruined the evening meals a little).

Very clean room right in the centre of Colaba, less than a 5 minute walk from major attractions like the Gateway of India and Taj Palace. Staff were super helpful. The breakfast and dinner included were amazing, really tasty homecooked food and big portions for the price. Felt like a very safe place for two female travellers.
