Even though we did not meet the host face to face but the host was so helpful. We were stuck in a snow storm and was asking if we are able to extend our stay (in case) and the host was more than happy to assist. The house was beautiful inside out and spacious.

Very pleasant cottage, very large and comfortable. Good location at the entrance of Akureyri, close from the city centre, many stores around. And to top it all, the hot tub in the garden !

As in the majority of places we stayed in Iceland, everything is managed on-line with codes to access the key and you never meet the owners (or any other human being :)).

The stairs to the dorm were very narrow and steep. Two of us ended up falling down them.

There was plenty or rooms and it had a washer and dryer we could use.

There was a hot tub but it was not private nor big. We were there 2 nights and everytime we wanted to go to the hot tub it was already occupied by the people from the other cottage. It was not big enough for us to join them.

The information received prior to arrival is communicated very effectivly and clearly so it is easy to arrive late or outside office hours. the cottage is quite large with two bedrooms downstairs; one with two single beds(easy to make a double bed) and the other bedroom with 2 bunk beds. The attic space is large with two single beds aswell. The cottage is very clean and offers everything you need for your stay; towels, linnens, soap, kitchen towels and so on. The outside area is very nice for a family stay. There is a large patio with a bbq and dining area, as well as green areas and a covered hotub, so it is possible to use it no matter how the weather is. We will definitely choose this property for out next travel to Akureyri.

The staff was quite friendly. And the location was perfect. The facilities were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at Akureyri Cottages.

It doesn’t have a double bed, but that one is on me, I should have read the description better. otherwise I can’t fault it.

It was spacious, which is what a family of 6 needs. It was also nice to have an access to a hot tub.

We rented cottage for our family of 5 members, the cottage had all towel and sheets included that was great. Rooms were good and the sleeping area upstairs was also perfect. Cottages are in the town and only 10 min walk to centrum of Akureyri. Hot tubs are used by 2 cottages but that is also fine. 10 min drive to the mountain to go skiing.
