The geothermal sulfur smell. But i will take it as it was an environmentally friendly way to heat the facility.

My 18 year old loved that there were games. We played ping pong and cornhole. Jirka greeted us and was wonderful for checking in. He showed us around and even carried our luggage! And he’s so handsome. Room was big, had kitchenette, comfortable beds.

The beds reminded me my time in an army. creaking, staggering. the bathroom didn't have a door, it had a dark curtain, which became transparent as soon as you turn on the light in a bathroom. And it was really hard to handle the door

The room was big enough, we had an own bathroom, washing machine and kitchen, which is great. the staff was super friendly. We loved this place because of entertaining facilities, such as: ping-pong, darts, massage chair, scary room and others. the one wouldn't get bored..

Some of the windows have cracks. The bathroom is located on the ground floor.

The recreation area was great. 24/7 check-in and the electronic massage chair were awesome! Staff were responsive.

Walls were thin and the neighbors were loud.

Really cool conversion, in it's past life it was a fish processing plant. Now it's a cool place to stay.

There was no light in the Balcony

The kitchen area should be cleaner.

Good value. Nothing fancy and unpretentious. We all slept so well. The place is really quiet. The host was friendly and kind in the messages she sent. Of all the p,aces we stayed at in Iceland, this was the only one which charged a realistic price. Well done!

The place is huge, the room was extremely spacious, clean and the kitchen corner was perfectly usable. Jirka is a very nice, friendly host. The idea of the ghosts of Iceland for some of the common rooms is original and funny. We would have liked to go to the "ghost house" adjoined to the hotel, but it was closed. Jirka proposed to turn it on for us only. Overall we can recommend the place.

There are only 2 bathrooms and locate on the ground floor. On the date I stayed, the bathroom’s floor is dirty.

The kitchen is very large with all important utensils you need. There is free coffee. The location is good. It close to the city with beach front. There are many clean toilets.

As for me common shower area was a bit odd as there was no curtain or anything separating each shower.

The building does not look too welcoming from the outside, but inside is actually quite fixed-up.

We were looking for a place to spend a night (and re-pack after 12 days camping in Iceland) before flying out the next day early morning (driving time to Keflavik airport was bout 1:20). The ArtHostel was perfect as there is a lot of common space which we could use to dry things and re-pack.

The shower facilities was a bit poor.

I liked the hepful Crew, the comfortable bed. I slept well. There was Cafee and hot water at the kitchen. The building surroundings was an intersting seaside area. we collected cool things from the shore.

The only thing we think could be improved are showers, it would be great to have more private showers behind closed bathroom doors.

Our 4 people room was very spacious, definitely bigger than any other hostel room we have seen in Iceland. It had kitchen annex available with all basic cooking equipment. Also, there was a larger shared kitchen available and a huge dining space. We also were positively surprised by the entertainment area with table tennis. This place can be definitely more than just a roof to sleep under after a long travel day! The host, Jirka, was very communicative and kind. We had a really great stay in Art Hostel :)

It was quite noisy but it was the weekend so to be expected and the shower was quite small but nothing really we disliked .

Huge apartment style room. Common spaces are huge too. The staff really helped make us feel at home and even tapped the door to let us know the northern lights were out.

Washrooms are on the ground floor, so you have to go to the ground floor every time. Overall the cleanliness was a bit lacking.
