Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe private bathroom was very small and the shower was impossible to use without making a mess and splash water everywhere. Also the fact that it has glass walls all around, including at the toilet, it's a weird choice. (But it was clearly stated at the time of booking, so it wasn't a surprise.) At least there was a private bathroom, other rooms only had a shared one.
Cozy environment and decoration, comfortable beds, good heating, very nice staff. Lots of parking spots nearby. Flexible check in and check out.

United KingdomFelt like a hostel sometimes as bathrooms were communal.
Nice place, very modern and clean, music room with board games. The FOH staff allowed us to use the hotel washing machine and drier for our clothes as we had been road tripping and couldn’t do it in our previous accommodations. This was a great help! Restaurant food was delicious. Didn’t go in the hot tub but good to have it as a possibility.

HungaryThe room itself has no ventilation so all the moist stayed on the window by the morning because of the winter, we wasn't able to open windows during the day or for the night.
The Hotel has a lovely vibe and lobby area we have had a very good sleep in their bed. I could recommend to anyone who planning to visit the North in Iceland.

United KingdomWe ordered Panna Cotta with blueberries from the menu. However, we were given Panna Cotta with mango instead. The waitress should ask us if this was acceptable to us, without assuming we would just accept any alternative dessert. Especially when the prices for the meal is at a premium. Wash basin in shower room is too small. Would be better to have a shower screen or curtain to keep rest of shower room floor dry.
Beautiful, old charm décor, furnishings from a distant past. Quiet. Car parking. Central location in town and near harbour. Lovely bar & restaurant. Large bedroom with comfy sofa and beds.

CanadaNot much room for luggage, but we made do.
The common area on the main floor was very welcoming and cozy on the very stormy night we spent there. Close to the bakery for breakfast, also close to the harbour.

AustraliaNothing really except that I booked our room for 2 nights at the last minute and they only had a very small twin room available. It was not really a problem as we were out or sitting downstairs in the lounge most of the time. Only other downside was the workers working on the building outside, but then again they are still renovating.
Very nice renovation of an old property, all very tastefully done with old funky furnishings and prints on wall in downstairs lounges. Nice bar area and lovely large restaurant with beautiful Morrocan food, which was a nice change after a week of Icelandic food. The staff were extremely helpful and obliging

United StatesThe bed was a little too soft for my comfort, I prefer firmer mattresses. I stayed in the second building which I think is a new addition, the main entrance door to that new building didn’t close all of the way unless you forced it shut which meant getting up to close it every time someone else left or listen to it get knocked about by wind (it wasn’t too windy so it wasn’t that annoying). Also, the secondary lock on my door didn’t work which I didn’t like.
Loved the common area and restaurant. My room was really beautiful and it was in great walking distance to a wonderful bakery. I loved the decor and blackout curtains. Breakfast was pretty good, I made a little ham and cheese croissant sandwich (mini croissants) and a yogurt and fruit parfait.
