How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room that we got was a bit smaller than we expected based on the images, but overall it was ok.
Metro stations were near the apartment, and also there was a store nearby. The neighborhood was very quiet. The room was clean and the check-in and check-out were very easy.

Bed & breakfast with no breakfast. Says there is air conditioner but you need to pay 15€ each day!!!! During a massive heat wave to ask for that when it was sold as existing service is beyond awful. Not comfy beds, specially in the heat. Very slow almost non existent wifi.
Underground and tram line not too far away.

The beds are a bit too small. We paid for air conditioning, but did not get. A bit too noisy at night, as it faces a road.
The room was fine, very clean. The view was ok, so was the neighbourhood.

the communication with the person in charge. he asked for the time of arrival, even we had already selected the time . Also after that he sent a message asking for contact number, which I sent. however he sent a message saying that we had to wait outside because he couldn’t communicate with us. That was very rude and stressful for us.

the room smelled like cigarettes there was no heating, only an air conditioner which did not give out that much heat

Everything was good, location and the size of the room. It was close to the subway and the bus stop. Room was pretty clean and the stuff was friendly.

There was a significant amount of mold in various areas around the room like underneath the window sill and around the edges of the ceiling. There also appeared to be an AC unit in the room but no way to turn it on so we opened the windows which let in noise and mosquitos.
The facility itself was a great value for the price.

They don’t allow late check in after 12 mid night which wasn’t mentioned on booking.com. Also, I need to struggle now with my credit card to dispute the charges in case I am charged. No transparency at booking.com level.

We stayed for a day, and it was overall a chaotic experience. The host was bizarre, we recieved the keys and he left with very little amount of information. He told us that AC had extra prices, and didn't tell it was gonna be THAT hot! We boiled in the rooms and couldn't turn the AC on. The rooms and bathrooms were ok but in general it was not a pleasant stay. And the guy made us pay more than the agreed amount.

We would apriciate if there was a small fridge because of the heat.
Overall it was alright 👍 We liked the flexibility with check in and check out. The room was clean. Metro to center was close by.

I asked to use the facility of luggage storage they say to provide and then I would take back the luggage in the afternoon, but since they don’t have the reception available 24/24 and they were “so busy” in the afternoon, I had to go around the city with full hands. The air conditioner is on payment, and on July is unbelievable to sleep without it. We opened the windows to avoid dying from the heat but we were eaten by mosquitos. Even if the bedclothes seemed to be clean, I found that the pillow was full of lint.
The closeness of the property to the underground is good to get around the city.

Room could been a bit larger. No other thing to object against.
Location is very good. Just few minutes by metro from Milano Centrale and 5 mins walking from the metro stop ISTRIA. Beds are comfy, bathroom is large and well equipped with all the things you could need. Place is extra clean. They provides us with AC gratis, that is to say THANK YOU, really helpful.
