Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The staff, Vilma (owner) was like having a built in Nonna the property, she couldn't have been more hospitable if she tried. Sylvia was also so lovely and did the wine tasting with us, super knowledgeable. She also helped us with finding a great cooking class to do together. The welcome we got at the property with wine and snacks was also great and the breakfast each day was super fresh and delicious! Also the wine from the property is amazing and they have an honesty system where you can get a bottle of wine and enjoy on overlooking the vines and you just keep a record of what you've taken.

CanadaPerhaps only thing was rooms had no TV....but we were not big TV watchers and spent most of our time exploring the adjacent areas of Alba, Barolo, Neive, etc.
A fantastic location in the hills among vineyards, with great view on adjacent towns. Breakfast was superb and convenient, and staff was warm and welcoming. This is a wine producer, and they were in the midst of finishing up on the harvest. Wine tasting were available, and you could buy their production from past years. Breakfast area was intimate, and all the guest were super friendly..... Got to attend the Annual truffle festival only a few km away and that was an experience. The area has several fantastic restaurants and we got to sample a few of them.

United KingdomNothing - It was perfect. You just need a car or a bike to get around because there are no taxis or public transport.
We couldn't recommend this place any more if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the Piedmont region and you have a car. It is perfectly positioned between Alba and Monforte D'Alba, and minutes away from Barolo. The staff were all incredibly lovely despite the fact we didn't speak Italian and they didn't speak much English. The breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options too. The best bit though is the room with one of the most comfortable beds we've had in a hotel and what looked like a brand new bathroom. We can't fault the place and will definitely be coming back if we're in the region again. They also do free wine tasting (in English too) for people who stay there!

AustraliaI gave it 9 stars because it misses a pool. Then again, who needs a pool when you’re in the midst of gorgeous scenery. And it doesn’t have a restaurant so you need a car or e-bike to get to one of the many beautiful restaurants, wine bars and trattorias, most of which are less than 10 minutes away.
Everything. Guests are treated like family here and the property is a working vineyard, beautifully located amongst the rolling hills of the Langhe. Sitting on the terrace with a glass of local wine contemplating life and watching the awesome scenery is pure bliss. The breakfast buffet is superb too.

AustraliaWow! Absolute best stay in all of Italy by far! Please don't hesitate to book here as you will definitely not regret it! The location is central in the middle of Barolo wine region, with breathtaking 360 degree view of wineries all around you. The family running the winery and hotel gave us the warmest welcome we had received in all of Italy (which is saying a lot!!) And made sure we were very very well looked after during the entirity if our stay. The hotel provides you with a fantastic place to relax and watch the sunset over a bottle of wine and some great local products. The rooms are very thoughtfully and beautifully appointed to the standard of a modern 5 star standard. They also have the best breakfast we have had in Italy with a very impressive variety of sweet and savoury local products as well as some of the best wine in this very prestigious area. The wine tasting they provided to us during our stay was very thorough and led by the very knowledgeable winemaker. Definitely just book this place without any hesitation as it will be your best experience in Italy!

United StatesRain-type shower heads.
Living at a working farm in paradise is a different type of stay, but one well worth the effort. Don’t expect TV or even an easy way to find the place. Expect small roads and hills, BUT don’t give up. It’s well worth the effort. From the hospitable hosts to the English speaking wine expert who gives a fabulous free tasting in an unimaginably beautiful outdoor setting, our visit was truly memorable. We’d recommend it to all those who love great wine and where it comes from!

United KingdomThe room was a little dark and short of sun. It was airconditioned but it would have been better to have had the ability to open windows in the bedroom and had a through draft, as the aircon was noisy. But that is a minor grumble as the room was otherwise comfortable.
The breakfast in Agriturismo Casina Sciulun was one of the best breakfasts I have had. It was fresh, there was lots of choice and local products were used. It was well presented and I doubt that there was anyone who would have left breakfast still hungry.

United StatesThe room is very small, so that one suitcase had to be placed under the table (closet is too small to be of much use). Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working so it was also very stuffy, despite a screened window (no wind). The wifi was unreliable, sometimes worked, then dropped, then slow. Outside on the nice terrace, there was no internet connection. (There is a lovely outdoor patio area which provided space.) The bathroom is typical small European, but this shower stall was exceptionally small.
The agritourism is perfectly located for exploring the Barolo area. The wine tasting is excellent (Franco Conterno) and we ended up buying a vertical of their very old wines because they were so wonderful. The staff is friendly, helpful and engaging. Lovely outdoor terrace on our room.
