How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location was perfect. There is possible to reach the main objects on foot. Room was good and very clean. And hosts... they are amazing.. very friendly and helpful. Gave us the best recommendations for restaurants and gelato. Best recommendations.

The room was very clean and spacious. It was exactly as described. Marta, Luca and Andrea were great hosts. Very respons, kind and helpful. Breakfast is not served, but every day the staff provides water, juices, tea and coffee. They also offer soms chips, crackers or peanuts. There is also a refrigerator in the kitchen you can use.

Everything was great, the only thing that could make the stay even more amazing, would be to add a bigger blind on the window in order to keep the room dark during sleep.
The location was great, right next to the train station and our host was amazing and very helpful. Also, the rooms were spotless, super clean and comfy. I definitely recommend Alma de Roma!!

A little bit small shower

The room was small. The pictures do not help to understand the room size. But it was not an issue for us.
I love the hospitality and the location the most. The host was friendly and gave suggestions about local cafes/restraunts. Checkin qnd check out was smooth. We arrived late, around midnight, but it it was no problem to check in. The location was the best. Walking distance from Roma Termini (Central Station). It was very easy to get to all the touristy spots from this location. Lot of restraunts and options to eat/drink near this stay. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures. Clean and tidy washroom. The housekeeping cleaned the room every day. Overall, it's great value for money!!

The rooms are in the attic with slopes, so probably not the best choice for very tall people. Our apartment only had skylight windows. Everything else was very good.
Neat and clean room, very nice host who is always at your service. The location is very convenient due to the proximity of the Termini station. A bottle of water and fruit juice is waiting for you in the fridge every morning. Very convenient location, there are several small shops, restaurants and cafes nearby.

Great location for access to all main attractions.withjin 10 mins of Termini station. Good communication from host with times, directions etc. useful to have kitchen use. Very clean. Bed comfortable. Would definitely tecommend

The host is adorable, very hospitable, helpful and available. The place is clean and well equipped: hair dryer in the room, air-conditioner, small shared kitchen. The host offers different kinds of tea, instant coffee, you always have water and juice in the fridge and some cakes - delicate attention that we really appreciated. The location is also good, we walked the most of time, for ex. 20 min to Fontaine de Trevi by foot. We absolutely loved it. Thank you very much!

Location is amazing, right in the centre and within walking distance of main attractions, bus station and railway station. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Value for money staying here. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again on a return visit to Rome. thanks all.

I didn’t love the final climb up stairs with our heavy suitcases.
So central! Right by Roma Termini! Very friendly and helpful staff. Sufficient space in the room. Nice and quiet despite its central location. I’d stay here again.

The style of the rooms (slopping cieling) that has only a small window in the ceiling and not a normal window with a city view.
Location is great, the place is a mix of a hotel, airbnb, and a hostel. The place is very quite, cleaning services are done to the whole rooms every morning, you feel you are staying at a local home or even your home. Andrea was very kind to meet us at 2:00 am (waiting us on the corner of the street) and gave us the keys/showed us around the place. They are generous people,, thinking of us on the new year's with a small bottle of prosecco :)
