Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaSome of the fixtures were a little worn down, and the shower curtain was a tension rod that fell on me when I closed the shower curtain. While the front doors into the lobby area was fairly secure, the doors to the individual rooms seemed to be secured by extremely simple single bit keys (with as far as I can tell, no unique cuts), which raises some security concerns.
Location was amazing, and the rooms had a very fun “kitschy” faux renaissance vibe. Rooms were clean, and AC was comfortable. The front desk staff was very kind, and allowed us to store our luggage at the front desk when we arrived early in Rome.

IrelandIt will be much better if there could be a suitable place for the electronic kettle use with some cups. It can improve the service perfectly. It will be much better if some hooks are fixed in the bathroom for hanging towels and clothes.
Great location, the room is fabulous and very impressive. it is like a classic museum, we stay in the room as if we enjoyed its Rome vintage style of the room ornaments, decoration and its a unique beauty. I love it very much. We feel very comfortable to stay in such a room. We will come back.

UkraineThis royal palace certainly has its drawbacks. The ancient windows apparently haven’t been changed since that time, which of course plays the role to the atmosphere, but is not entirely compatible with the realities of life in the city center in the 21st century. We were lucky enough to stay at the hotel on a Friday night and spent half the night listening to the cheering crowd outside the window as though they were right in our room. The amazing experience provided me with thrills and fascinating nightmares due to the constant screams and noise, I dreamed of some kind of natural disaster, where everyone was yelling and panicking
Exceptional interior design with insane amount of art. The whole environment seems to be enveloped in the spirit of antiquity. The feeling as if you were transported to the 14th century and are visiting some royal person at the palace. Breakfast on the rooftop is separate type of pleasure- breathtaking view and really tasty and wide options to eat

United KingdomThe room is extremely badly isolated, I had one of the worst sleeps in a long time due to noise of people coming and going out so be sure to take ear plugs! Shower pressure was low. Room is relatively dark even with all the lights on. Actual room is located a few minutes walk from the hotel where you check-in.
The location is central which is great for exploring Rome. I loved the room style and it was clean.

United KingdomThe room was way darker than expected, the photos on the website are a lot brighter . Despite that, the room was cosy, and we enjoyed the medieval vibe.
The position was incredibly convenient, close to the centre, and great amenities, like local restaurants and caffes. The staff was incredibly friendly and the place has a really nice terrace where they serve a nice breakfast.

South AfricaThe flight of stairs by the access door has a steep incline. But, luckily it's only one flight. We thought the large midieval painting above the bed would freak us out, but we got a friendly lady painting. :)
Yes, the building is old. But, it has all you need and the location is great! Spacious room.

IrelandIt didnt bother us, but just an FYI, the rooms at Antica Diamore Dell Orso are situated by themselves 3 to 4 min walk away from the hotel reception, so they were hard to find. It's not really a hotel as I think a hotel has a reception onsite. We thought the roof terrace was on top of our building as it was mentioned on booking.com, but it was a short walk away, so it was likely not worth paying the extra for breakfast as you pass beautiful places for breakfast on the walk to the hotel that are cheap as chips. The 2nd bed in the room was a sofa bed. Not the quietest place in the world as we could hear other guests coming and going, but that didn't bother us as we were so tired from all our exploring and the beds and sheets were comfy and extremely clean. Only one key for the room between two people.
Location of this place is amazing - situated right beside the Piaza Navona. It's spotless clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and an excellent location to stay in if you want to see all of Rome. The decor is fantastic - old style Roman building with beams and period features. Handy as there is a shop open from 8am to 10pm directly downstairs that sells everything. The reception staff came and met us at the door with the key on our arrival as we arrived late at night. The staff also held onto our luggage at the reception for the last day.
