Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IcelandIt was the perfect hotel for us, will definately come back again. Alessia took perfect care of us, we felt so welcome. She recommended us some delicious restaurants close by and provided us with such a lovely breakfast each morning. The view from the roof was breathtaking! Every attraction was only a short walk away so really it was the perfect hotel. Can’t wait to come back!

Braziljust a liiiitle bit far from the historic center (nothing that you could not walk 10-15 minutes or grab a cab). room could be a little bigger.
the nicest and kindest staff there is (first impression upon reception, and that mantained so during all our stay); Alessia and Daniel were the best. the terrace is fantastic to have a nice breakfast, which is, by the way, outstanding. there is a lot of extras and little thins the staff offer: freely to the guests (like biscuits, vin santo, coffee and teas, breads etc). the room is very fancy and comfortable. shower and rest of the barroom are nice.

Canadathere was nothing to dislike.
The hosts were amazing, they were very friendly and attentive, upon check-in we received a glass of wine and the hosts sat and described all the best locations/attractions to see in the area. The location was less than a 10 min walk to the Duomo. The property was spotless and well maintained. Breakfasts were beyond our expectations.

Brilliant period decor in renovated 17th C. manse on historic via Gallo running N-S through Florence to ponte Vecchio. Cozy roof garden (w/cat) for breakfast & stargazing. Minutes between pastry shop and five small but delicious restaurants (Sure to try 50 Bossa for their pannini & historic menu of local buildings).

United KingdomRacking my brains to think of something and failing ... I guess if the lift stopped working that might be an issue as the property is on the third floor and as such there are lots of stairs to navigate. The front door to the street is about 18 feet high, very impressive architecture. We loved the quirkiness of the property and the internal stone stairs leading to the living room.
We didn't have any issued gaining access. I rang the number given, the owner lives opposite the property. If you let her know what time you're arriving then ring you can't go far wrong. Breakfast was served up on the roof terrace, accesses by a spiral wooden staircase. The terrace had plenty of tables, including a shaded area. The views were great and it had such a lovely, homely atmosphere. There is a resident cat who helps to look after the terrace. Breakfast was everything you could possibly need - and then some! Fruits galore, freshly chopped plus some you can peel yourselves. Bread available for toast, jams, Nutella, butter etc. Coffee and tea served by the owners - you don't have to carry anything up the stairs apart from yourselves and your choice of fruit juice from downstairs. Eggs are available too; we had scrambled eggs one morning and they were delicious. Freshly baked cakes and snacks are complimentary and available in the communal living area, along with fruit juices, fizzy drinks and cold water. We loved being able to fill up our Chilly bottles with water to take on our adventures each day. The room we had was the mezzanine. Beautiful four poster bed, wooden window shutters, tiled floors - so cool for bare feet after a long day walking! Sympathetic artwork on the walls and beautiful mix of antique wooden furniture. Everything was spotlessly clean, no issues there whatsoever. Linen was fresh and clean. We couldn't get the shower head to stay in it's slot on the wall but forgot to ask about this and it was probably our mistake anyway. We managed perfectly well anyway. Owners were THE most genuine and helpful hosts we've stayed with, always asking about our experience to try to improve our stay. A local restaurant was recommended to us and a table was booked for us; we really enjoyed our meal, the most authentic food we had! If we are ever in Florence again we would not hesitate to stay here again. First class.

United KingdomDue to the extreme temperatures in July, we did find our room quite hot, despite the attempts of the air-conditioning unit. We appreciate though that there was not really much else that could be done about this, it was during a heatwave!
Antica Johlea was a wonderful B&B for a short visit to Florence. The location is excellent - a short walk away from the train station and an easy to walk into the main city, just straight down the same street. Our favourite place in the B&B was the roof terrace as it has such amazing views across the city. It was wonderful to sit up there in the evening with a bottle of wine! Breakfast was also served up on the terrace which was exceptional - Alessia made sure that we had anything and everything we could have wanted with fresh fruit, yoghurts and pastries, as well as eggs cooked any way we liked. They were fantastic hosts, offering us extremely helpful advice for places to visit, must-see sights, as well as restaurant tips and places off the beaten track. They were also extremely easy to communicate with during our stay, even booking us dinner reservations on our behalf. We would definitely choose to stay at Antica Johlea again, if we are lucky enough to visit Florence again in the future.

PortugalAlessia & Daniele are the perfect hosts. They cannot do enough for you and are a mind of information on Florence. The premises are wonderful, so very quiet and you would hardly know that there were any other guests there. The breakfast is superb and it's basically a really great place to stay in Florence. The air con in the rooms was most welcome and our beds were extremely comfortable.
